Good value stop off on a cycling trip. As a solo customer, the room I got was small. The room was clean and fine for the price. I was able to store my bike under shelter but I'd have liked it to be more organised for this and discreet (bike was probably visible from the road though the gate was closed at night and of course I locked up the bike). 
Breakfast was excellent, and cheap, and as others said on here, good coffee. So overall I'd recommend this place as a stop over, great valuable and absolutely fine for the price.

Cycling stop off, Euro Velo 6

we were on a cycling holiday and booked this place on the day. we arrived soaking wet but were made welcome and after a good hot shower were warm again. safe storage for the bikes and good wifi. near the eurovelo route and an interesting town.

handy hotel

Excellent hotel and  restaurant for this price;  my wifi it worked; that they have one  day off for the restaurant deserved in the week, should be understandable; if you work  7 days from 7 AM till 11 PM in a family enterprise, than you will now, how it is; I see a lot of complaints from anglophone speakers; maybe the language is the problem; however, you pay 40 Euro for a double room; 20 percent going to  trip advisor or booking come; 20 percent taxes for the goverment; 24 Euros remaining; they have to wash towels and bedsheets, pay the cleaner for the room and bathroom or do it themselves; rooms  almost new, new showers and you are in France, not in Hollywood , so the pillows are french; if you don like it, ask in advence and bring your own; the breakfast is usually not included in France; if you don` like it, go to the bakery nearbye, buy some croissnats for 90 cent each and take acoffee in the bar, as mostly all other french people are doing;
I think, myself could not have had more luxury for small money and if someone likes to find something to complain, they will find it; next stay will be in march..
I prefer this hotel to others, who are anoym and built like for roboters.My dog was given water without asking, myself treated like a gentleman, excellent conversations about the rallye quatrelle and political situation in the country with both of them; even when I did not told them, that I served with their army; so what else to complain?

I stayed here frequently, with and without family;; all nights I have passed with postive memories;

They have free parking, the location is easy to find and the rooms are clean, quiet and spacious. The bed is comfortable. 
But I was really disappointed because the wifi did not work ok in my room and the reply from the direction of the hotel was really frustrating, they just told me that it usually worked, looked at me as if I was a fool and told me that they could give me another available room but it costed double tan mine. They made me feel very bad treated, really. Apart from that the shower did not work properly and the breakfast was really very simple. I will definitely not come back, as there are other options in Digoin.

DID NOT FEEL LIKE AT HOME AT ALL :(

Four of us stayed here one night as part of a cycle ride from Derby in the UK to Monte Carlo, and we stayed on a Sunday night. This may (or may not) explain our experience.

I arrived around 4 in the afternoon and Madam (probably owner’s wife) was sitting in the bar. She gave me the keys to the rooms and explained that the bar was closed, and very shortly the entire downstairs would be closed leaving the guest entrance at the rear. That was the last I saw of her.

There is a covered, off road, car park in the hotel, and in common with a number of hotels we found in France there is a small charge. 

The wireless internet worked well, and seemed fast by my standards (but I live in a rural part of Derbyshire).

The rooms were simple, comfortable and clean, but opened onto the street. This gave me the usual choice – close the windows and don’t sleep because it’s too hot or leave the windows open and don’t sleep because it’s too noisy. Not entirely the owner’s fault, and a common problem once the weather warms, up, but annoying nonetheless.

When the three cyclist arrived, hot and thirsty, we had to go over the road to a Polish take away to get a beer, and we had no help from the owners in finding somewhere to eat that night. We finally ate the the Hotel Restaurant Les Diligences on the canal where we had a fantastic meal, at a very reasonable price (and I would thoroughly recommend staying there.)

Breakfast was fine, usual French coffee, bread, croissants and jam, but the croissants and bread were on the table in a basket and that was it - there was no buffet, you had what was there.

Not a hotel I would stay in again, pay a little more and stay at the Diligences.

It wasn't awful, but I can't say I have good memories of it, although it did have its own charm. Accepted dogs but we have two so we had to split up and pay for another (single) room as two dogs not allowed in same room. I understand. It was clean, tidy, relatively friendly. Food was extremely basic in the restaurant for dinner (looks like it never changes, ham and frites, basic salads like tuna mixed with potatoes and mayo). Breakfast was good and fresh from the bakery (baguette and croissant only with jam). THE TOWN IS WORTH EXPLORING THOUGH. We found it enchanting. Right on the canal parallel to the Loire and another canal it has some charming old buildings on the waterfront, an amazing 19th century byzantine church (!) and a sweet "ceramic" museum of the local porcelain, quite big in its day. One of those french towns that makes you feel good about France. We're going back but probably to stay at a different hotel. It would be fun to cycle along the canal, too as we saw many other people doing.
