For a french bed and breakfast, it was good. Exceptional service and good breakfast. Bedroom/bathroon is very rustical in aged stone built house. Very poor wifi connection in our room. Don't  let dust or cobwebs put you off though. Our dog had a great time with the owners dog playing in the plentiful roomy garden. Good private and secure parking.

Rustical B&B

We spent 4 nights in Le Clos de L'Ambre and felt very comfortable. Nathalie is a wonderful, charming hostess who always advised us with excellent excursion and restaurant tips. The.Le Clos de L'Ambre is a beautiful 18th-century property with a very beautiful garden. Nathalie has created three very charmingly romantic and tastefully furnished holiday accommodations. We had the generous, prestigious accommodation with its own entrance and garden area.

Romantic, tasty, recommended

Nice, quiet guest room, comfortable bed. Good breakfast with very good croissants, handcrafted fruit juice, good homemade jams and local specialties, all served in a greenhouse. A nice garden. The area is nice.

A quiet little corner

We had an excellent stay at the Clos de l'Ambre, in a charming environment. The breakfast is delicious and well taken care of (house yogurt, famous croissants, very good bread, succulent homemade jams). It was served in February in a large, beautifully decorated greenhouse, which allowed us to enjoy the view of the garden. The bed is very comfortable and the reception is perfect. There are great walks to do in the area

A place full of charm

The owner gave us a very good reception, gave wise advice for tours and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious and pleasant, a very quiet place with a spacious room. The area is beautiful, the natural heritage is sumptuous and the perched villages are to be discovered. A great stay.

Charm and welcome

We stayed at the mouth of the Amber River and found there calm, silence, warm welcome and wise advice. Breakfast in the greenhouse has a very special taste and we start the day in total serenity.

WE in the country

A quiet guest room nestled in the middle of nature in a really beautiful setting. You feel cut off from everything and yet the city is only a few minutes away by car. Really very relaxing. Nathalie is a hostess more than charming, hospitable, available and helpful. Not knowing where to eat when I arrive (late), she recommended me to a restaurant that she immediately called herself to reserve. The rooms lack a little modernity but the decor is pretty, the bed is very comfortable, and above all the quietness... There is a parking lot to park but this one is very small, so it's a little difficult to maneuver with a big car. I really enjoyed the good breakfast under the green in the middle of a magical garden... A particularly small place.

Charm and tranquility

A very nice place! a great room perfect for a family with children; bucolic setting. flawless bed. very good breakfast point negative: the glass would deserve a refreshment and the spider webs would deserve to be removed from the room. positive point: very welcome from the owner.

WE as a family

We spent two nights at the Clos de L'Ambre in June. It is quite hard to find, and a little tricky to park once found, but any doubts about the place, disappear once you meet the owner, Nathalie. Nathalie has an infectious charm that exudes not only from herself, but also from the rooms and garden that she has so cleverly designed and laid out, everything has her stamp on it. Her English is about as good as my French, so communication has to be worked on, but this seems to only add to the experience. She is knowledgeable on the whole Valley of the Drome area, and her advice most helpful.
Breakfast is outside in a little courtyard, everthing fresh and local. The rooms are all different, but equally full of character. Also full of character are the well behaved cats (brought from Venice) and a shaggy Cocker Spaniel.
If you are looking for luxury and air conditioning, then perhaps this is not the place for you. But if you want a real part of France, presented with genuine charm and affection, then this could be the real deal.
