We stayed at Mike & Sophie's beautiful premises on our way to Portugal and it was so good we reserved accommodation for our return journey there and then. We arrived very late on our first visit but not so the 2nd time so were able to enjoy dinner with them and boy how we enjoyed it. Sophie's dishes were gourmet standard and probably the best we'd enjoyed anywhere during our vacation. Mike is a great host and as a couple they were a great team and such good company. We had a real good time, great after dinner chat and of course Mike's banter and jokes. 
Their parting comment to us was "come and see us again, even if it's just to drop in for coffee if you are passing". No way could we just do coffee, we'd want to stay over. 
Just idilic.Fantastic accommodation and a lovely couple.
Mike / Sophie, write that book.

Return stay on route from Portugal to Uk

Could not fault it! 
-Amazing owners, very friendly and helpful. Nothing was to big of a hassle for them. 
-Set up; It was very nice having the restaurant/cafe/ bar on site with fantastic food.  Particularly catering for myself as I lactose intolerant  (quite difficult in France). There is something for everyone!
-Beautiful grounds and nearly renovated whilst still maintaining a traditional feel. Everything is so clean to!
-Would recommend to everyone; singles, families and couples! 
- My mother and I only speak English so it was very refreshing having someone fluent in English.
-Beautiful grounds with some adorable animals :) 
-I don't not normally review things (unless they are particularly bad) but this place I felt definitely deserves it! Well done!!

Amazing!!

A little gem hidden away in the south west of France. Very peaceful surroundings, high quality rooms and the owners have now built a restaurant on the grounds - Restaurant Horizon, couldn't find this on Trip advisor as a restaurant only under the Hotel bracket of Horizon des Landes. Its not surprising the food and service is as good as the hotel itself. I highly recommended their food, I myself am not a fan of French traditional dishes so this restaurant works for my wife and I, she can eat frog legs etc, and I can eat from the international menu. Really reasonable prices, cant fault the entire set up.

STUNNING

What a shame my tripdadvisor app advises me that Horizon Des Landes is 612 miles from my current location, otherwise we would be back on a regular basis!
Booked here with very little research and were extremely glad we did.
Mike and Sophie are the perfect hosts and they have restored this traditional Landes house into a fabulous chambre d'hote with facilities and quality of a 3 or 4 star hotel.
However where they score higher than any hotel is the personal and friendly welcome and their attention to detail in terms of the room and meals.
Embarrasingly we missed the email and text that asked about our arrival time yet we were still able to have a fabulous evening meal with quality wine. Breakfast was great with lots of lovely homemade jams, bread and eggs with lardons as a special treat.
Somewhat Reluctantly posting this as I have a horrible feeling when we come to book again they will always be fully booked as there is no doubt they will have a lot of happy customers!!
So definitely do stay here..but dont tell too many people as it is worth keeping as a special secret!

Fabulous welcome, accomodation and food

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at L'Horizon des Landes. The property is lovely, the rooms were immaculate and the hospitality was second to none. Breakfasts of home made jams, compotes and yogurt, along with fresh baked breads and specialty items made me feel pampered and very well cared for. 
High marks to Mike and Sophie for their exceptional manner in dealing with a large and boisterous crowd of Americans. They were warm and welcoming to us and not only met our needs but anticipated others (scrambled eggs-nice touch, Mike!). 
Simply superb!
