We stayed for just one night. The manager, Charles, gave us an incredibly warm welcome was so helpful and very enthusiastic about the history of the property. The building is incredible and full of period pieces. 
Our bedroom was huge and very comfortable and our friend even had a four poster bed. The towels in the bathrooms were very big and soft and had crown motifs.
We had breakfast in the massive dining room which was amazing (if a little pricey for what but it was, but it was in sumptuous surroundings)
Parking was available through gates into the back of the garden.
Charles was attentive throughout and was intent on making our stay good.
We will definitely return and wholeheartedly recommend to others.

Fabulous building and amazing staff.

We intended to spend one night at Hotel de Warenghien and were so pleased with the place and the people that decided to spend one more night. The house has a stately air that makes you feel as the guest of the owner. The rooms are spacious and decorated with antiques, while the bathrooms are modern and big. Claude and Aurelie served our breakfast and were wonderful. Would repeat every time.

WONDERFUL LITTLE HOTEL

The proprietor of this ancient mansion, Monsieur Armand,  is a very gracious host. He welcomed us warmly and showed us the downstairs rooms proudly. These are furnished in an old and beautiful style, with subtle modern touches such as automatic lighting and colour coded light switches.

We stayed in the Baron room. Again old grandeur tastefully upgraded. An en - suite modern bathroom was marvellous both in design and function. A superb twin head shower was the height of luxury.

If we had wanted to stay in and watch TV the latest Internet connected Panasonic marvel was provided, complete with Netflixs. 

Our breakfast was served in the dining room, through which we had entered on arrival. A variety of pastries and drinks are offered. Orange juice is freshly made. You are asked to order your breakfast the night before. 

We had asked for parking, and Armand accompanied me to the private garage on the other side of the block to show me the way. Despite my poor French and Armand's limited English we managed to communicate fairly well. 

We will book this hotel on our next trip since Douai is only 1hr 15m from the Channel Tunnel @ Coquelles.

All in all, a unique and pleasant stay.

A Unique and pleasant experience.

The apartments for Hotel de Warenghien are located around the corner from the hotel & ours was in a very run down condition. First of all we had to pay 10 Euros each for thread bare towels that were well used.. Secondly there is no 'free parking' as advertised & we ended up parking on the street where we were constantly concerned about receiving a ticket. The twin beds were very uncomfortable & the bedding had seen better days. There were a serious lack of amenities & we ended up buying soap, coffee filters, toilet paper.... We think the apartment above us was a long term as our 'wonderful' neighbours woke us up every morning at 6:00 by stomping around for an hour before thumping down the stairs... Very disappointing stay & would not recommend the apartments at Hotel de Warenghien. 

눇The location was right across from the Douai gare & easy walking distance to the town's centre. Also the one bedroom had two bathrooms. That's about all that's good about this apartment
