After a long drive  through some lovely countryside we eventually arrived at our destination 

We received a  super friendly welcome from someone who was pleased to see us. The French host helped us with our luggage and showed us to our room on the first floor which was large with beautiful  and typical French decor.   Everything ! ... and I really do mean  EVERYTHING  was just so, spotlessly clean and super tidy ... with attention to every detail at every turn!!  
 
The room was beautiful, the bed comfy, bathroom clean and  tidy, the shower  with fantastic pressure - lovey shabby chic cream furniture and a huge gilded mirror 

The Breakfast table laid out with attention to detail.  A jug with  orange juice, a  couple of small bowls with fruit, full baguette on a long wooden breadboard , 3  types of jam, a most gorgeous little  domed butter  dish, a basket with croissants and pain au chocolate ... what more could you possibly ask for !!  Fabulous in every sense of the word.

I cannot fault this wonderful little venue at all.. so if you are in the area, do make a point of staying - you will be pleased you did - Like we were!!

What a great find beautiful decor very french , very clean and quiet , hosts are a English couple they are so helpful and friendly, they have a little kitchen to make drinks if you want to take up to your room, breakfast lovely bread warm croissants butters and jams 
No bar there or food but lovely places around for that

Great 3 day stay

My Wife and I stayed here for 6 nights last week, whilst beginning our house hunt in the region.  Louise and Wayne are wonderful hosts and we couldn't fault La Belle Vienne.  Very easy to find from Limoges airport, just 30 minutes along the N141, no tolls to pay and just behind the hotel is a large public carpark, which is free and open 24 hours.  The room was beautifully furnished and the ensuite shower room excellent, with towels changed regularly.  Continental Breakfast came with the deal and included cereals, fresh croissants, baguettes, orange juice, tea or coffee and fruit.  The nearest supermarket was located in Chabanais, about 10 minutes in a car and offered plenty of choice, plus a chance to refuel and clean the car but if you don't fancy driving, there is a Tabac shop about 1 minutes walk from La Belle Vienne, which offered all the essentials and a free French lesson every day! 
A beautiful setting, wonderful hotel and friendly hosts, what more could you ask for?  Wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

Tres Bon

Lovely warm welcome after a long drive from Le Havre. Pretty room, comfortable bed and great ensuite shower. Super clean. Useful kitchen downstairs for guests. Very relaxed evening meal with our hosts and breakfast was at whatever time suited us. All for a very very reasonable price. Definitely to be recommended! 

La Belle B & B!

We have just returned from 2 weeks in France. The first week was at La Belle Vienne. Whilst Exideuil is a quiet village it was perfect and quaint. The one restaurant, tabac and boulangerie met our needs along with larger shops in Chabainas. There are two large lakes for swimming within 10 mins drive. The La Belle Vienne website gives the details but Louise was more than happy to advise us on local amenities. There is small kitchen which we found really useful for picnics for days out. The highlight for us was being so close to the Vienne for picnics, lazy afternoons and canoeing, which you can do at the campsite on the opposite side of the river. It's well worth doing and very cheap. A wonderful place to stay in a perfect B and B where nothing was too much trouble. We slept so well that we sometimes found the 08.00 - 09.00 breakfast a bit limiting but Louise always accommodated us. Thank you!

Heavenly sleep!

Although we struggled to find it, even though it is on the main road through the village, when we got inside and were taken to our rooms, we were delighted.
Beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable and with great en-suite shower rooms. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was very generous.
We were made to feel very welcome.
I would recommend it to anyone passing through the region.

Unexpected Treasure

This house has been recently renovated and is really charming. I believe it is run by an English couple who were away at the time. A Scottish neighbour was looking after the place and she made helpful suggestions during our stay. The bedroom was decorated to a high standard with boutique features like fancy bathroom fittings, pretty decoration mixed with antique heavy rustic furniture and ikea lampshades. It really works. The shutters and local church bells are charming and do not ring all night, thankfully! There were a few minor things like we could not get the aircon unit to work and the wardrobe was difficult to manage and the wifi did not reach our room but these were really very minor points and would not deter me from recommending this lovely oasis as a super place to stay. We stayed for three nights and could happily have stayed longer. At 55euro per night this represented excellent value, especially as this included breakfast.
In the village we dined at the local restaurant one evening and had a great feast for very little money. The swimming lake and beach is around half an hours drive away and there are charming villages all around to explore by car. I would not hesitate to stay here again!
