We felt right away like home because we were friendly welcome and the cabin is fully-equipped, clean, and warm.

As we were driving to Font-Romeu under difficult weather conditions (heavy snowfalls, cold) the host gave me clear indications as to chose the safest itinerary and warmed up the place in advance for us.

It is worth mentioning for a chalet in the mountains that:
 - the heating system of our flat was very efficient,
 - the kitchen was fully-equipped,
 - the bed was very comfortable.

As the cabin is in the height of Odeillo, we had an astounding panoramic view of the valley.

The host also provided the ski map and the cross-country ski map which even the tourism office lacks of!


Beautiful and Cozy Mansion & Truly Caring Host

A group of us stayed here for two nights while walking the GR10. We were very comfortable with a large sitting room to use as well as the dining room and fridge facilities. Our hosts were delightful and took a lot of trouble to make us welcome and help us find our way around Font Romeu. They are very good cooks and produced delicious dinners and a good breakfast. We all loved it!

Excellent stay and accommodation with outstanding food

Location most convenient for exploring the Pyrenees around Font Romeu. Sylvie very helpful with local advice and help.  Our room was ideal...  albeit you need to duck as you get into bed. A simple but most enjoyable breakfast. Thank you!

Stay all too short

We stayed in this gite for 4 nights, when we arrived, we were made to feel we were disturbing the "host". We had to ask for loo paper twice as it was given out as if it was gold dust!! Then one morning, in our haste and wrongly - we admit it - we forgot to clean the table after breakfast, instead of being told nicely to not forget next time,  we got a rude message from the host, telling us we were pigs - he placarded the note on our door so that everyone would see it - and stating he was not our slave. When I went to ask for loo paper Mr Marty said he wanted to humiliate us because the place was a pigsty (just a few crumbs on the table), his manners were aggressive and highly unpleasant - I must add that if he supplied us with a broom, there was no dustpan to collect the dirt. Probably upset because we did not eat at his table - mind you, having to put up with such a xenophobic man would have cut our appetite.  On further inspection of the furniture we found that the top of the shelves, lamps etc were covered with dust...
Would definitely not recommend this place, the host is obviously not made up for this type of job if he enjoys insulting his paying guests... Avoid unless you want to have a stressful stay!!!
The place is down at the bottom of Font Romeu which is not convenient to access to the town or shop facilities and rough on the car to get in and out.

Host with the worst manners ever!

We had a great time in Font Romeu. Les Cariolettes is well located. We had a beautiful view from our window...Francis and Sylvie are very nice!! The place is cosy. We did not have dinner there, but the food smells very good.
