We chose to stop off here for our last night of our holiday. It’s an old presbytery in a beautiful little rural hamlet.
Luckily the owner speaks English as I only have a basic knowledge of French.
It’s comfortable and restored tastefully.
I would recommend staying here if you love the peace and beauty of rural France.

A perfect location 

The guest rooms are impeccable and in an old mansion where the owners have everything keep to the old magnificent just and the excellent restaurant with a juicy homemade kitchen and the owners are charming and very welcoming I recommend especially if you want to be quiet in the countryside to recharge yourself

Just perfect.

We spent a weekend in Lifol-le-Grand and discovered this address thanks to the site. Gentlhommière is an excellent address, the guest rooms are very comfortable, well equipped and very beautiful, suitable for the historic building. The owners are charming and prepare a delicious breakfast. They also have a small restaurant next to it with a small map. The terrace is magnificent: you have a beautiful view of the fishing pond where fly fishing enthusiasts give their heart. We also enjoyed a short walk along the river: impressive with the blue-green color of its waters and its small waterfalls and limestone basins. A sight to behold!

Site resting in nature

When you drive through the lonely landscapes, it becomes clear that this is a special place. An old church, a lake, a restaurant and the old parish house next to the castle. In addition, the hostess Christine makes sure that the guests have nothing to lose. The rooms in the old house are huge and very tastefully renovated, the sanitary facilities are modern and very clean. Our bed was splendidly comfortable and we had a wonderful view of the sea and the church from our room. The restaurant is rustic, uncomplicated and very tasty. We spent a magical evening there by the moon-shaped lake and then slept well. It is so quiet that you can hear the silence back! For our evening we have just had a wonderful view of the sea and the church. Absolutely safe to go to the kitchen and the beach.

A magical place with the best service

The location comes as a surprise as the road suddenly descends into a beautiful green valley with a crystal clear lake from natural springs and a pretty little village with chateau, church, rectory and tavern. 
There's a warm welcome (in English if wished) from Madam and her family who have a genuine interest in their guests as you are escorted to your exquisitely and tastefully modernised room, with views of the Lake. Dinner is served in the Tavern on weekends, simple but local fare using local produce and very good value. 
Fly fishing on the lake stocked with brown and rainbow trout is also available. The village itself has an interesting history and the host family have been a key part of it for at least a century. All in all a little bit of rural French heaven.

Fabulous location, great service, exquisite bedrooms

The hotel is a good surprise, as at the end of the road you descend into a very green valley, clear as lake water and natural springs and a nice little village with its castle and parish church, and a brewery. There is a warm welcome (in English if one would have preferred to stay at home) of Madame and her family who have a real interest in their guests while you will be escorted to your taste and modernized with taste, with a magnificent view of the lake. Dinner is in the Tavern on weekends, simple but local restaurant composed of local products and a good quality / trux family relationship. Fishing on the lake filled with flies and brine-service is also available.

The location is fabulous, great service, perfect rooms.

We made a step in this unusual guesthouse we feel like we're in a castle it was very nice it was very clean and the reception very nice lunch delicious products are cooked on the spot the view is very beautiful near the pond

Step into a beautiful place

Guest rooms in an old presbytery completely renovated. Some really beautiful rooms dominate the pond and the dike  the gentleman of the blue waters . Super welcome from the owners always listening and good advice. Excellent quality-price ratio.
