We booked this via an agent as they do not have their own website.  We thought at 100 Euros a night!! we had booked something special and thought we were booked in the main house but we weren't. Their photos advertising the bed and breakfast were great so our expectations were high.  In the event we had difficulty finding it and the sign on the gate was a piece of old wood with the name stencilled on it which seemed odd as obviously this had been a grand estate at one time so surely a great sign should have been essential.  Anyway we were met as we drove through the gates by a woman (member of staff) waving at us and we proceeded past her to the main house but she kept on waving and she was calling us back to the Stable Block which was some way from the house.  The lady told us immediately in very broken English (fair enough) that we would have to pay cash as no cards were accepted.  There was no WiFi.  The swimming pool was never shown to us and we certainly couldn't see it from where we were staying nor were we shown the gym or in fact any other facilities and we certainly never met the owners.  I did not feel secure in this Stable Block.  We were in a kind of studio, up steep stone steps, with kitchen and seating areas but were told not to go through a curtain which led to other accommodation- were other people staying there? if so they could have accessed our accommodation.  There was no stand up shower but a hand held shower in the bath.  The bathroom was modern and to a good standard.   On opening floor to ceiling windows there was no barrier of any sort so I could have fallen straight out - horrible and certainly extremely dangerous for children. We asked if we could get an evening meal anywhere but the lady told us she didn't know of anywhere except for a fast food place on a type of retail park so we had to fend for ourselves and we found somewhere in Evreux thank goodness which was very good. We returned to a very lonely Stable Block.  In the morning the breakfast was brought up to us by the woman who met us the previous day.  I must say the sliced white bread was a bit of a shock.  There were croissants and pots of used jams a couple of yoghurts in the fridge and a jar of something already used that we couldn't identify! Make your own tea or coffee.  I couldn't wait to leave.  It gave me the creeps.  Stay in Evreaux its lovely and probably cheaper.
