Excellent stay in La Cadoise Sept 2019

We spent 4 nights here and used it as a base to explore the Loire Valley. Ann and Vincent together with their friendly dog Lola were perfect hosts. They gave us excellent advice on visits, walks and booked restaurants for us. 
The room was clean and comfortable, the pool very refreshing in the hot weather and we had excellent breakfasts with the other guests which gave us a chance to practice our French! Ann obviously cares about the environment and much of the food was produced from their garden. 
It was very quiet but only 10 minutes away from an old royal capital town and next to some superb woods. There were many Châteaus in easy reach- we would recommend Chenonceau about 30 minutes away. 
We would thoroughly recommend it

Perfect peaceful base 

Thank you Anne and Vincent for this wonderful stay. A small corner of a peaceful paradise, everything was perfectly clad with a smile of kindness and friendliness. The room was very clean and warm. A beautiful exterior despite our harsh periods of heat. And what a pleasure to cross the animals!

A wonderful stay in Cadoise

Anne, further to your reply to my husband, I would like to add my thoughts. Before leaving on our trip we researched the area and came across your property. On reading the reviews and looking at the photos we decided it sounded idyllic. On arrival we did indeed find a "cooked appearance to the garden"  but this is no excuse for not tending to it!  The view from the swimming pool area was unkept with weeds, the driveway and paths not weeded.As my husband has already said you and your husband were very welcoming but sadly we have to agree to differ on your renovation standards. Whilst I respect to keep the rooms cool your house is  kept dark  but it felt tired and was definitely in need of a lick of paint. it was not at all apparent that you had recently renovated indeed it seemed every room had  seen better days and ( we have visited many chambre d'hotes) it was indeed "bohemian" As you walk in and see a large farmhouse table dressed in an old looking tablecloth with a tray of half used condiments. The sofa and chair was old and worn. I can see you have refurbished the bathroom which was fine ( although it was not offered with white towels!) The bed sheets were brown in colour! and the bed particularly uncomfortable. The floor covering was sticky under foot.. The plug sockets were unrealible. The window covering dated and oppressive in the room. As we were in the top room it was extremely hot although no fan was offered. After not sleeping all night we got up and left your property at 7.30am ( not 6am as you state) there was still no one up and about at this time to speak with. My husband contacted you as soon as we left and we politely left payment for our room. We have now been in the Loire for a week and stayed in four different  homes, all have been delightful with warm welcomes clean and well kept traditional furniture,  crisp white bed linen and towels furniture and floor covering well kept and in keeping with the property. La Cadoise you have a lot of work to do to bring your property up to 2019 standards! Even for rural France. 100% you are not a 10/10, we only gave you the score we did as you were welcoming people.

Differing of opinions

We booked after reading the reviews on Trip advisor . Anne and her husband ( and the dog!)  were charming and booked us into the local gourmet restaurant, which was lovely. Yes the area is quiet, and there is a pool ( we saw an owl on the drive home too!)  but the whole place needs updating. The pool area and grounds were quite unkept with weeds and rotten planks etc. We had the top room and although clean,  it felt tired, with old furniture and soft furnishings. The towels and bedding weren’t exactly white and fresh.  It was a very hot evening but the top room was unbearably hot . We left before breakfast . Sorry the score on Trip Advisor is very misleading. I give it a 6/10  at he most. Sorry.

A little disappointing

For us La Cadoise with Anne and Vincent is a synonym for rest and silence. We have been coming here for some time now and going to Loches without staying at this B&B just wouldn't be the same. When sitting by the pool, you can overlook the neighbourings fields and feel as if you are all alone on this planet. Ofcourse, it is not just the place. It's also the people. Anne and Vincent are perfect hosts that just make this idyllic picture complete. They are charming and warm and make you feel very much at home at their B&B. The rooms are spacious and the bedding is comfortable. At night, when sleeping with open windows you can enjoy the hooting of little burrow owls that call out to their young when a cat is approaching. Then you realise: this is the countryside! At breakfast you can savour Anne's baking skills. The bread is homemade, as are the jams.What a great start of the day! And we mustn't forget the irresistible enthusiasm of Lola! This is indeed the perfect spot to relax and leave the hustle and bustle of city life behind.

The perfect place

The guests at La Cadoise were very kind and hospitable, we felt at home. The hostel is exceptional, nestled in the middle of the fields and next to the Loches forest, we wake up in the morning with the singing of birds! The place is perfect for an open getaway or a visit to the surrounding castles and villages.

A haven of peace in the green!

We were planning a three day visit to the Touraine region and are so glad we stumbled upon La Cadoise on Trip Advisor. If you’d like somewhere central to all the area has to offer but completely quiet and relaxing, email Anne to make a booking. Our room was splendidly spacious and comfortable as was the large ensuite. Anne and Vincent are charming, friendly and very helpful. We are Australian and have little French but we all managed very well to communicate happily. The breakfast is delicious and fresh and the farm like surrounds and gorgeous old buildings make for a great get away from the world. The atmosphere and hospitality were perfect.

Close to Everything but Delightfully Quiet and Rural

It's a great place to relax and enjoy the nearby Loire castles, but you can also retire quietly in the evening.
