Very nice place in Gerardmer with super view of the lake and the village from our apartment. We were 6 so we had rented a 3 bedroom apartment. it had everything you need and was very cozy. Clean, not to far from the city center and very reasonably priced. Will definitely return whenever I get the chance.

Tip top

We rented a two-room-apartment and a three-room-chalet because there were 10 of us. They were not very big but we had enough space. They were overlooking the lake. Each had a kitchen, a toilet, and a shower (the chalet had an extra shower on the upper floor). The kitchen was completely equipped, which I found very useful for us since we didn't eat out during our stay there. I also like the warm and homey feeling it offered by its wooden interior design. And the perk of our stay was that the jacuzzi and sauna were just next to our chalet. No one else used the facilities, so we got to really enjoy them during our whole stay. Staffs were friendly. Although they didn't speak English, we managed to communicate and understand one another. The only shortcoming was there were lots of ants in the kitchen and a few corners.

Beautiful lake view from the cottages

Though my visit was very short- only for two nights, I was impressed by availability of the owners at any hour. Arriving at 10 PM on Thursday, I was welcomed by the nice couple. The lake looking room was prepared and warm!
The lady showed me the room and explained where to have a diner after 11PM (there is no indoor restaurant) and how to get to the ski slope on the following day.
The wi-fi is faster than I would expect. Very quiet place , with extremely beautiful lake view from the balcony.
The apartment I got has one living room with kitchen , one bedroom and there was additional duplex bed in a kind of niche. 
the kitchen is fully equipped, though i didn't find a kettle, but there was a very nice coffee filter machine.

some disadvantages:
- the location is between the city center and the ski slope, so you have to have a car.
- the tv channels are all in french.
BTW - the owners do not speak English, but their hospitality overcomes any language gaps! 
summary - enjoyable stay with very affordable cost which is fully repayable

Excelent hospitality with surprising availability

We were met by this lovely lady in charge of this place.  As promised our apartment was overlooking the lake.  It had everything we needed.  A 2 bedroom flat with a kitchen and necessary appliances.  Living/dining with a TV and wifi (free).  Small bathroom but adequate, and a separate toilet.  Lots of storage place and a sofa that converts into 2 single bed if the need arises. Since we were just 3 people so the 2 bedrooms were plenty.  They were simply furnished but again, it was just fine.  The place was clean and we paid on arrival with no problem.  The only negative side was that since it rained a lot, we couldn't use the balcony/ terrace which was large and overlooked the town and lake, because the rain filtered through from the upper balcony.  What a pity.  Maybe they should waterproof the balconies so as to make them usable even in bad weather.
They supplied us with all the linens including towels and that was great.  It's quite rare towels are supplied to visitors in France or if they do so, they will charge you.  
When we left we made sure the flat was clean.  All the cleaning supplies are provided and we were not charged for any cleaning either.

Our chalet as shown in the photo is quite big...it has at least 5 flats I can count but I'm not sure.  But it looks like it is the oldest there.  A coat of pain on the outside would make such a nice and big difference to its outlook.  Internally, it was just perfect.  We had adequate heating and could use all the radiator without extra charge.  We had to since the temperature dropped to minus at night and did not go beyond 4C even end of April!!!

We were close to the town center so even walking distance was feasible, but it was cold and rainy, so we used the car.  The town is small enough that one can just walk it.  In good weather, it must be absolutely wonderful to walk around the lake.  We tried many restaurants and the people were just lovely and welcoming except for one: les copains d'abord.  They do not carry their name well.  They were an arrogant lot so we walked out.  I would avoid them at all cost!!!

Les Adrets is a lovely place and I would book their chalet again...I loved the town...such a pretty place but maybe in better weather!  :)

Enjoy your holiday in Gerardmer.  There is plenty to do and the lady who gave us the key was very knowledgeable and was eager to share all she knew about the location.
