We chose Le coin des artistes as the former grocery where Claude Monet used to shop expecting it would be a charming place. The location is very good and walking distance from the Maison et Jardins de Claude Monet. The owners, a chinese couple are doing a very good job at ensuring you are happy. However the property is tacky and in needs of refurbishment. It's a shame as it is not in keeping with the overall feel of Giverny village where refinement prevails.

Not the character we expected

My sister and I had a lovely 2 night stay. A quaint building and courtyard. Wonderful hosts who went out of their way to help us with food after finding out the restaurants were all fully booked. 
Comfortable beds, large bathroom, good linens, electric kettle and tea bags, and good wifi. 
The simple breakfast which was optional for a small fee was fresh and quickly served. 
So nice to be able to stroll the village and leisurely enjoy the Monet gardens. Nice cafe options for day and early evenings.

Lovely B&B in Giverny.

Although located close to Monet’s garden which was convenient, this accommodation wasn’t really what we expected.  Parking on street was easy, the bed was comfy, but numerous other bad points (towel rail fell off wall when used, hair found in the bed, plug in basin stuck closed) mean we cannot recommend it.

Cannot recommend

The location near Monet's house was perfect for us.  It was easy to walk to Monet's home and to a couple of local restaurants. On the down side, the rooms and furnishings are dated and the mattress was sagging a little. The pillows were lumpy and hard. On the plus side, the room was large and comfortable. There was a hot water pot and a selection of tea which was nice. The bathroom was clean. The shower was the best and most spacious of the five hotels that I stayed in during my French holiday.

Great location for visiting Monet's home.

Perfect location on the main street, 5 minutes from Monet's garden. Parking places in front the hotel.Good WI FI in the room and in the inner courtyard. Cosy, nice, quiet and spotlessly clean room. Typical French garden with lots of flowers and tables for relax.  Excellent service and nice and friendly hosts. I do recommend it!

Charming hotel with perfect location and excellent service

The location of Le Coin Des Artists is few minutes walk from Monet house and gardens, which is the main reason for staying at this charming place. However, as a B&B it has several problems. We found no soap or shampoo in the rooms. Someone entered our room to "straighten the blankets" but no actual cleaning was done. The towels are in bad condition and limited supply. Toliet paper in limited supply. There was no WiFi signal in our room. There was a light sensor outside our room that was too sensitive and kept going on and off all night. The room decor is minimal.
We were told to go out to the courtyard to get a signal.however, the signal was too weak to do anything. The breakfast is at a level of continental breakfast you would get in hotels -- not the same quality you would expect from a Bed and Breakfast. Breakfast ends early (9:30a,). Payment is cash only. There are better and cheaper places to stay in nearby towns.

Not a good value for your money

This BnB lived up to our expectations with friendly owners, clean spacious room with great facilities including large shower as well as bath. . A relief after the tiny ones we had used recently. The courtyard was delightful with a lovely outdoor lounge set to sit on. We used the bicycles to explore further and it was close enough for us to visit the gardens both in the morning and afternoon. On our departure the owners drove us to the station.

Situated in great local within village of Giverny

We were very disappointed that the review and the photos did not match the current situation. I believe there are new owners. The room did not have any of the French charm shown in the photos. There was a I love NY bedspread. To enter and exit you had to go through a pile of junk and bikes. The outdoor courtyard had junk laying around. We decided not to spend the night. False advertising.

Disaster

8 days before my trip on the last day available for cancellation, property informed me that they didn't actually have the room available for booking! They said they normally won't have the room opened for the weekends because of wedding bookings. They explained they overlooked it and said they were not sure if it was a system booking fault of booking.com or oversight on their part.  I found this a poor excuse for a last minute inform. They expressed they would assist in finding alternative accommodation but obviously did not feel the same urgency or concern that I had. They offered to look around their neighbourhood for rooms as it was the weekend and so last minute. I am sorely disappointed. 

I found alternative booking myself and cancelled the booking as they requested since I am not a welcomed guest. 

This is the first time I am "kicked" out of accommodation before I even reached there in my international travels.
