Located in a very quiet fishing town, the bed and breakfast building and garden is full of charm. We enjoyed our good walk to the beach where a fast dip into the Atlantic was very refreshing. 
The owners couldn't be more helpful. We arrived on a Sunday and wanted to have a relaxing beer in the garden. Well, as stores were not open that sold beer, our lovely owner gave us two beers. She would not let us repay her, so please, if you come here with two extra beers, please pay it forward for us. The next night, in our next B and B, we sat and shared beer with another couple. Hopefully, the world of B and B will accept this!  
Breakfast was delicious with a special coconut pastry and a crepe and scrumptious home made yogurt. 
Thank you to the owners for putting up with our limited French!  A place worth the visit. 

Charm and kindness

On return from Spain and SW France by way of Roscoff ferry deviated inti the bottom of Brittany.

Lovely area pretty little fishing port and superb B and B/ Hotel. Warm welcome from Madame and shewn to a comfortable nicely furnished room overlooking pretty gardens and local town square. Excellent home produced breakfast set us up for an intense day viewing local area.

Good tourist base with easy access to brilliant beaches and country also loads of small towns and villages all with something to see.

First foray into SW Brittany.

Superb value for money, lovely breakfast, comfortable room. A very friendly welcome from Guy and Martine, who made us feel so at home despite their lack of English! Highly recommended for a very inexpensive few days, right in the centre of Le Guilvinec.

Excellent Chambre D'hote

The house is set in a fairly unprepossessing square overlooking a church, but once we got beyond the high white walls and into the garden we were met warmly as if we were old friends by the delightful Guy and Martine. If we hadn't been so English I'm sure they would have kissed us on both cheeks French-style! They made us feel instantly at home after a long drive and are clearly proud of their lovely house and its garden which looked in June fit to win first prize in a flower show. All the rooms are individually decorated and furnished in their own eclectic style. The only drawback was our shower room and toilet which inexplicably only had a thin curtain between it and the bedroom instead of a door. Martine however found a more substantial curtain and put it up, also offered a change of room when other guests departed the next day.  The other rooms have more normal facilities but we liked the spaciousness our accommodation afforded and the comfy armchairs and big bed, so opted to stay there.There was even an electric kettle and tea and coffee in the room - very unusual on the Continent.  The church clock starts to strike quite early, but we slept so well it didn't disturb us. Breakfast was delightful, croissants and good coffee from big round bowls, yoghurt and also Martine's home-made cake and crepes - a great start to the day. This lovely couple couldn't have been more helpful and eager to please,  there were lots of maps and local information and they could advise you where to go and how to get there. Their English was minimal, as is our French, but somehow everyone made themselves understood! Le Guilvinec itself is a somewhat austere fishing village, don't expect it to be quaint or pretty, but it grew on us and a lot was due to our splendid accommodation. We went slightly before the French 'season' and found most restaurants only open for lunch, but were lucky enough to find 'La Chaumiere' along the harbour front open at night for an exquisite and inexpensive meal prepared by the hard-working owner/chef/waiter Christian who'll do you a great guitar rendition in between! Don't miss the return of the fishing boats at 5pm and also the interesting  fishing museum and exhibition which has English audio guides. There's lots to do if you like pottering around this rather wild and remote area and some beautiful beaches over to the West.
