We were really pleased of our stay at relais des cimes. Room are great space and super clean, hotel staff is really nice and food is absolutely excellent.
Located in the center it is very convenient for hiking.
We loved it and we will be back.

A wonderful experience

We had not booked and were lucky to secure a room for six nights due to a cancellation just prior to our arrival. We found the hotel to be efficiently run, comfortable, providing a very good breakfast. The room was very clean and well appointed.   

Charming hotel in Hellbourg

We ate at its restaurant, the food was the most descent creole meal we ever had in Reunion. The portion was big that we only order one soup and one duck for two of us! It is a popular restaurant so come early. And In Reunion, restaurants are only opened from 12-2, 7pm onward. Siesta in between

Excellent food

Getting to Hell-Bourg is already a bit of an adventure on the small and winding road. The village has that nice remote feel to it.

Check-in went smooth, the receptionist gave us a warm welcome. The room was simple but clean. Don't expect things like wifi.

Waking up in the morning, the mountain view was stunning! We got great advice on which hike to take. We hiked to Belouve which we found quite tough but amazing. Start early because after 11 in the morning there probably will be clouds disguising the mountains.

Breakfast was good and we liked the dinner.

Although you should not expect a lot of luxury at this hotel, we definitely recommend it because we loved the experience.

Simple hotel, great experience

Nice hotel in Creole house. Very central and great service. Good choice for spending a few days in the city for hiking and excursions around. Breakfast was good. Very clean and uncomplicated, very helpful staff 

Stay in nice in creole house

We enjoyed our stay a lot, especially the small pool was very refreshing and the staff was very friendly. The rooms are very spacious, clean and nice. We did not use the restaurant or the spa. But we tasted the drinks by the pool ;-) they were nice

Very nice hotel in Cilaos

The lovely staff are friendly and helpful, and the restaurant served the best chou chou gratin I tasted on the island. Great location in the centre of town. Rooms are old though and the paved slabs in the garden made it hard to roll luggage to the rooms.

Friendly staff

The Hotel seems to be fine but in the room we got:
- A thick tuft of hair lay on the floor in the bathroom.
- Knob of bath tap is broken, the weathered tarnish shows it has been like this for a long time.
- The shower head holder is so worn that the water pressure causes shower head to spin in all directions. Here, too, you can see signs of age.
- Towel holder hangs loose and crooked.

PLEASE NOTE !!! WIFI is only available in the main building. And only from breakfast until 22:00. Then the main building with reception, restaurant and bar closes. BUT that's also when ALL Wifi connections are disconnected. So early to bed then.

Here Another Serious problem occurs:
During the night, you constantly hear a heavy penetrating low humming sound, varying frequencies and it starts and stops about after 4 min, then a few minutes less and then it starts again. This seriously disturbs your sleep.

Next to this all: 

The staff are very sweet, welcoming and do a tremendous job of making the guest feel comfortable.
I seriously wonder what and when the manager actually does anything?!

Unhappy experiences

The rooms are not well equipped. You will not find internet nor a fridge. For the WiFi you will have to be in the restaurant of the hotel. You will be able to hear everything people are saying on the noisiest street of Hell-Bourg. Too expensive for a simple location.

Not well equipped but nice location

Hotel with small clean rooms motel style. Well located for hikers. Do not expect too much.
Spacious bathroom but the shower has only a trickle of water running from warm to cold and back.
Friendly staff. French style Breakfast with very limited choice.
Most disturbing is the bad smell from malfunctioning sewer hanging constantly around the patio next to the restaurant
