What a wonderful weekend- thank you Josette, we shall be back ❤️ The breakfast was very nice and gave us a good chance to properly meet the owner Josette who is s lovely intelligent and stylish French lady.

Quick trip to Honfleur!!

Josette's very friendly reception in her beautifully furnished house with a traveling taste, which gave us a good insight into our sights, restaurants, shops, markets... Upper room clean and pleasant, rather spacious compared to what can be found on Honfleur.

Atypical

With a very cold reception, it's limited if we don't mind! Before booking take into account the comments and a tip: book somewhere else!!!! Very disappointed

It's a shame.

What a beautiful surprise! Be prepared for both Josette your charming knowledgeable host ( worth following her restaurant tips) and for the idiosyncratic nature of this hidden gem... Off the main drag and away from the main tourist routes so generally quiet although if windows left open on warm night then expect some night sounds .. We had the loft room up some tight stairs but what a find ... Some lovely design touches and in keeping with the whole place it is packed with individual art pieces. 
Please don't expect a branded hotel and all their standardisation... This is what you come to Honfleur for! Parking free of charge but hundred meters up hill from property. Not a problem . 
Would def go back ...

Quirky and fun 

Nice house typical of Honfleur located in the heart of the city, free parking nearby which is appreciated. However the benefits are not up to the rate, 160 € for the room Pepper which is quite small, pretty decoration but which could be refreshed, painting that scales in the bathroom. The entrance to the house rather thinks of a barras and therefore not very welcoming. The sea junk of the stairs leading to the room is very damaged by place. Smell of tobacco in the morning waking up. We only had access to the living room for breakfast, the time the door is a locked... a small lunch in the living room to eat bazaar is closed sdaut... because the little ladies who live in the hotel room lack the charm and reputation of the hotel is said to be c.

If you want to enjoy Honfleur from a unique point of view, welcome to Madame Josette's home, a B&B that makes you feel special and cocked by a housewife ready to give you great advice about where to eat and what to visit.

The private life of Honfleur

Josette's authentic house in Old quaint fishing village is a lovely and memorable experience and a highlight of our monthlong holiday in greater France. Room was comfortable and authentically decorated . Great personal Continental breakfast with home made items by the lovely Joesette and interesting tête-à-tête and a glass of wine before going to dinner by the harbour.
500 year old house with authentic low ceilings and tight steep stairs. A real gem.

Genuine French Honfleur Experience

We had to stay there for two nights, unfortunately from the moment we arrived, unhealthy reception, difficulty getting into the room (narrow stairs); TV not running in rainy and windy weather.(wretchedly we were in winter and it was raining) Remote control off. Expensive toilets closing by a sliding door! impractical bathroom, inability to shower except on our knees, inability to take a bath, not wide enough, we can't get up without banging our heads!

The Manifested Arnak

As some already noted, Au Grey is not a hotel. But staying on front of it, one barely can imagine, what a gem is hidden inside of this old house. It has only two guest rooms, which are stylishly decorated.  Yes, as old house it has certain features, like narrow stairs or low ceiling in bathroom, but it gives to this place an absolutely unique atmosphere, which you cannot find in any hotel. We really felt ourselves as guests in Josette’s home, rather than as unknown tourists in hotel. We saw Honfleur from windows of old Honfleur’s house and I can assure you – this is unforgettable.

Real Honfleur

Whilst it was by no means an unpleasant stay - very nicely decorated old house along a very quaint street, a nice breakfast of croissants, brioche, jams and fresh fruit, a helpful hostess (Josette), immaculate bathrooms, tea, coffee and fresh water in the rooms - the age of the house meant that we were kept awake for hours at night due to the incredibly squeaky floor boards and thin walls. Unfortunately we were able to hear the guest in the room upstairs reproducing their dinner (!!) followed by continual loo flushing. The compact nature of the rooms meant that in the height of summer they were quite hot but with the window open to encourage airflow we were treated to lots of motorbikes and noise from the street. 

The price we paid made us expect a more comfortable stay so we would probably wouldn't go back but saying that, it's a great location and you won't be desperate to leave.
