Easy to find in the centre of town with ample free car parking.  The hosts are lovely and speak good English.  The rooms are large, clean and comfortable.  The hotel would benefit from a refresh but it wouldn’t stop us staying again.  The food in the restaurant is very good and exceptional value for money.

Ingrandes the final stopping place on the Loire on our France 2019 trip. This smallish town sits on the northern bank of the mighty Loire at the point where the D6 crosses the river.

The stairs up from reception are quite narrow and carrying more than one piece of luggage at a time would have been difficult.  We moved our car into the private garage and moved our luggage into our room, via a set of external stairs to the first floor via a key-code controlled door.

The hotel is very well appointed for a 2 star, our room was spacious and well fitted. The bed was comfortable enough, but the mattress on my side sagged a bit.  The pillows were not good.  The desk had a comfortable chair but no lamp and no power sockets nearby.  There was a socket each side of the bed for the bedside lamps but access to the sockets would have meant moving the bed, and besides the power supply to my PC would not have reached to the desk.  There was another socket near the door into the room, but that was even further away. There was a luggage table and a comfortable chair, a phone, a flat-screen TV, and bedside tables.  The double-glazed window opened out and had an efficient blind.  The rest of the room was good, it was clean and the decorations were sober and undamaged. 

The bathroom was very good, a big shower with the shower pan having an anti-slip surface.  The shower was good, water was plentiful and hot.  There was a rainfall shower and a detachable hand-held shower head.  The control for the water flow had to be positioned carefully between the point where the water went up to the rainfall fitting or to the hand-held fitting. Moving this control too far results in a shower of cold water from the rainfall fitting.  The WC cistern occasionally stuck open a bit, causing regular refills of the cistern.  The toilet seat was very loose and skewed sideways when you shifted position (use your imagination here).  The wash basin was a good size and the mirror above was a good size too, but not very well illuminated for the kind of detailed facial cosmetic attention that ladies want to do.  There are under-sink drawers and hooks for towels etc.  Soap was supplied, as were towels but we had to ask for bath towels: as the four towels supplied were all hand-towels.  There was no hairdryer.

Breakfast was in an airy and light restaurant room off-of reception at the back of the building.  There is an outside covered seated area at the back of the building for alfresco dining.  Breakfast was 8€ each and again (as with most hotels) if you want value you need to eat with enthusiasm.  We did breakfast here – it’s convenient to do this, and after all, if you are only spending 67€ on the room then what the hell!  There was plenty of choices with croissant and other pastries, brioche, good artisan bread, preserves, cake, pancakes, yoghurts, fruit salad, meats and cheese as well as juices, coffee and teas.

Noise levels can be quite high at times as the D6 is quite busy with small vehicles and noisy motorbikes (especially the 50cc angry wasp in a biscuit-tin type).  The nearby train station is also busy at times, but although we could hear trains pass, the noise was not enough to wake us from what was a pretty good night’s sleep.  Occasionally the wind produced a whistle just outside our window which was straight out of a scary movie soundtrack, to complete the effect my bedside lamp also flickered a bit now and then too.  It was all highly amusing, the noise didn’t happen overnight or, if it did, it was not loud enough to wake us either.

All the staff we encountered were very helpful and service was excellent.

Good hotel in emergency situation with sound effects

We were happy with our one night stay. The room was good for the price we paid. It was nothing fancy, but it was clean and had some upgrades. The staff was friendly. Their English was rough, but we were in France, so I would in no way fault them for that. We stayed for dinner and had a very nice meal. Our visit was during a heatwave and there was no AC, which did make our stay a little less comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Nice stopover, good food

Nice little hotel in the village with very friendly English speaking staff.  Lovely walks down by the river only 5 minutes away.  Room accessed by a VERY steep winding staircase so be warned!  Did not eat here so can't comment on food but the restaurant want very busy that evening we were there.  Would stay again but only for one night, nothing else in the village that we saw of importance!

Very Clean.  Excellent small village location good for one night

This bed and breakfast is in a lovely location near the Loire River. The hotel is very clean and the people who work there accommodating. Breakfast was good. Note to bring your own bath and body products as there is only one gel available for all uses. Also there is no air conditioning and if you open the windows the room becomes populated with mosquitos. I bought a fan at the local Super U so ask to borrow it (I left it in room 12!)

Simple and Clean, but HOT

This is a very traditional French restaurant which does your standard "formule" for lunch.  No doubt a few years ago the dining room would have had paint stained with 50 years of cigarette smoke, but now it is freshly decorated - without losing the essential character.  When we were in the local Sapeurs Pompiers were in en masse getting their lunch, and as there were no fires scheduled for that afternoon, quite a bit of beer.

Excellent spot for lunch

Near to the Loire.  A small unpretentious hotel with a good restaurant. Clean and easy , covered parking for at least a few cars.  Not busy when we passed by in mid September.  Good enough to support but nothing really special.  

Good overnight stay ... walk along the Loire

+ very good value for the money (menus), outstanding value of the menu for 12,5 €
+ renovated rooms
+ big shower, at least in the room we had
- the restaurant lacks a little bit of atmosphere
