After seeing some of the reviews for La Muzelle B, we were apprehensive about what to expect, however ended up being pleasantly surprised. As a group of 6, we were given a two storey appartment with a living area/kitchen, a set of bunk beds, and 2 twin bedrooms, meaning that no one was sleeping on the sofa bed. That said, we were travelling with another group of 6 who were given an appartment without the bunk beds, meaning that two people were required to sleep on the pull out sofa bed and they were slightly more cramped. We found the apartment spacious and clean, and there were 2 showers and toilets (we could never get more than a dribble of water out of the upstairs shower, but the downstairs shower did work well and was enough for the six of us). All our kitchen facilities worked fine, although be warned that there seem to be only 2 hobs per appartment so we would recommend only cooking simple meals (and trying some of the brilliant restaurants located nearby). 

In terms of location, the hotel is located at one end of quite a long town, but we found most facilities to be in walking distance (such as a pool and ice rink), with some of the ski lifts being only a 5 minute walk away. 

We would have given 4*s if the bedding we were provided with was non disposable (we brought cotton sleeping bag liners with us and were very glad we did as the bedding was pretty scratchy and not the most comfortable), and may have even given 5*s if the kitchen facilities were more appropriate for 6 people. Overall, it was pretty comfortable and clean, and what we expected with the price we were paying. 

You get what you pay for

My uni group stayed in block B the week before Christmas and we weren't disappointed. I stayed in block A 4 years ago when it was a lot worse. Thankfully it's been done up since then!

You couldn't ask for a better location- close to bars and the Diable lift.

The rooms were clean and nothing was really broken/missing when we arrived. This in itself is an achievement for budget accommodation like this.

The bedding provided is paper thin, disposable stuff which isn't ideal but does the job.

Noise levels are fine as long as you're the ones making it. If you don't want to go out every night think twice before staying here.

Didn't see any members of staff around but thankfully we didn't need any help.

Budget places like this are known for nicking your deposit. We're still waiting to hear about ours. As long as you are meticulous with filling in the inventory when you first arrive you should be okay.

Uni ski trip- No major complaints and you get what you pay for

We went as a small group in bloc B.
A few things were broken in our studio, and the microwave/oven didn’t work. We had to use our neighbours’ (which thankfully were our friends’).

The bar just outside seems shady (pole-dance bar and jacuzzi inside... hm).

NOT recommended for families/couple.
Okay for the price, I guess, for large groups of friends (student groups or other).

Location: next to Le Diable, easy to go up the slopes. Lively area, restaurants nearby, possibility to go to the other slopes, Vallee Blanche.

Room conditions: very poor. We had a studio for 6 - kitchen had a convertible couch hosting 2 ppl, 1 room upstairs for 2 with one dressing improvised into another bedroom with no door or windows. Yes, you heard it right. However, it is ideal for low-cost trips between close friends. Sharing the studio with strangers must be a hustle. No privacy whatsoever. 

Pay attention to the report on the state of the room. We had a thorough analysis when we arrived but failed to depict a technical problem at the dish washing machine (something was missing). It led to water / detergent left in the dish washing machine because of a missing part and we were charged 70 euros. Outrageous. 

Therefore I wouldn't recommend it if you can afford topping 100-200 euros for a 1 week trip.

Good location, poor conditions, good price

I arrived to the sight of vomit on my mattress and in the draw underneath. This is NOT acceptable no matter how cheap a place is, it should be clean!! Not only this, we also found a pair of shorts underneath the sink from a previous resident. After complaining to reception, I was given a new mattress and the draw underneath was poorly cleaned (there was still vomit in the handle you use to pull out the draw). The man who sorted the complaint was very apologetic and gave our whole room free towels for the week (usually costs I think €17 each), and bought us two free takeaway pizzas. Although this was a nice gesture I still don’t feel vomit in a room is acceptable. It is considered a biohazard. The man who sorted the complaint told us that our room ‘must have been missed by the cleaning staff’, however he did not arrange for any cleaning staff to come and clean our room the whole time we were there. So essentially we stayed in a dirty, uncleaned room for a week. Despite offering compensation in other ways (free towels and pizza) I was not offered any money back, and I have no doubt that some of our deposit will be taken off us despite leaving our room in a reasonable condition. 

This place feels more like a hostel than a hotel. You are given disposable bedsheets, the material of hairnets and you have to make your own beds. You are only given 4 toilet rolls for the whole week and then are expected to buy your own. Upon leaving, you are expected to hoover and mop the room and clean all surfaces, which for us, would mean leaving it cleaner than when we entered. 

If this place had been clean I would have given a much better review as, although small, it did the job. The microwave was really powerful, the fridge was useful, the hobs were great. The shower was powerful. But when the first thing you see walking into your room is vomit it really isn’t acceptable. And the fact that nobody came to clean our room afterwards is really not on.

Avoid this hotel

Day 1- took 2 hours to check in, they wanted 800 euros deposit when the paperwork stated 200 euro deposit. Ended uo paying a 300 euro deposit. None of the keys worked for anybody on out floor after speaking with others. Door had to be fixed because it wouldnt shut, then wouldnt lock anyway. Had to leave our room open first night due to no working key. Continually told that they were too busy at reception to sort out my room door. 

Day 2- went back to reception 9am, was once again told that they were too busy and that i needed to wait. Waited 30 minutes, nobody came back so went out skiing so to avoid these people ruining my holiday. On return i tried reception again where i was given a master key. As glad as i was that i had a key to lock my door with, it was very worrying that tgey had handed me a key in which i had access to all the other rooms aswell. 

A few days in, i was sat in the corridor waiting for my roomate to come back with the key when the person staying next to me asked whether i wanted her to open my door for me. Surprised i said how can you do that? She tgen told me her key also works for all the doors as she had let a friend of gers into her room down the corridor. Absolutely shocking security!!!

I returned home from my holiday on 18th december and im still yet to recieve or even hear anything about my deposit. Truly the worst place ive ever stayed, doesnt deserve 1 star.

Awful everything

I honestly could not recommend this hotel any less, I would rather chew glass for 6 days than ever step foot back here again.

Quite frankly I would have slept better on the floor in the hotel car park than I did in the hotel.

Don’t expect to get the refundable deposit back, (see the charges in photos...)

The walls are cardboard thin, meaning that until 5am you can hear screaming from the neighbouring rooms. The beds stink, and you will be given a pack of disposable sheets which are worse quality than the paper sheets used in hospitals.

No towels, loo roll supplied so make sure you bring your own.

I would give it a 0 if I could

Almost no power outlets, not enough tableware/glasses, the apartment is extremely small (although this seems to be the norm in France), hallways seem to smell of vomit all the time, the heating was not adjustable and the service desk is unmanned except on Saturday.  But worst of all is that it seems that everyone who is staying here was kids with the mental capacity of a 12y old that is planning to get drunk for the first time.

look for another place

I stayed at the Residence La Muzelle in January as part of a group Ski trip. At first it seemed like a great budget place to stay, however upon arrival the apartments were dirty, damaged and generally looked as if they hadn't been maintained in years. 

We found the hob in our room was temperamental, it was impossible to contact anyone at reception, when we finally managed to report the issue nothing was done to fix it. 

After leaving the room cleaner than when we arrived; A few weeks later we only received a small fraction of our deposit back. A list of damages we had allegedly caused in the room were given, It seemed they had picked a list of problems from thin air and charged us just to make more money.

I would avoid these apartments at all costs, this is the worst place I have stayed by a country mile, look for somewhere else to spend you ski holiday in Les Deux Alps.
