Although there had been a mix up with our booking and Marielle had booked our rooms out, she swiftly organised the gite for 5 of us and we stayed for an evening.  The setting is stunning and both Marielle and Ben have worked hard to make the place a welcome haven.  They clearly have an eye for detail and there are lots of little spots in the garden to eat ad drink and while away the hours.  We enjoyed a home made meal shared with the host and another couple of guests and tasted lots of local delicacies.  The ambience was fantastic and continued in the morning when we had breakfast al fresco.  The ingredients were all fresh and Marielle was a very attentive host.  I would recommend this as a base for a cycling/walking trip or a romantic get away.

Stunning location - great for a romantic get away

We stayed for two nights and ate in both nights.  The food was excellent and plentiful, we enjoyed eating with other nationalities.  The rooms and whole house are beautifully decorated, it felt like a real treat.  We mountain biked from the door and and a short drive away.  The garden was an excellent place to relax after a ride.  Tea and coffee were provided in the rooms and beer at cost price in the breakfast room which was much appreciated.  We would definitely like to stay again.

Great location, rooms, food and hosts.

After some search on the web we chose La Bousquetière to stay during our cycling holiday. It resulted in a 8-days superb stay on all levels. Marielle and Ben, the hosts, are very friendly and welcoming people and they will do everything to make you feel at home and to make your stay unforgettable. The house is just beautiful and perfectly located to cycle all the surrounding breathtaking cols. We also did some hiking in the mountains ...what an amazing region this is!! Our room was just great and impeccable clean with a very good bed and a charming bathroom. We loved all little details. And then of course the food...Every day we started with a very tasty breakfast (almost everything is home-made), an incredible view on the mountains and the enthusiastic Marielle and Ben who gave tips and tricks for the excursion of the day. La table d'hôtes in the evening (apéro at 20 hours!) is very very very good....It is a reflection of creativity, generosity, and the love to spoil their guests and so much more. In summary: we just made another reservation for next year. No doubts!!

We had the great delight to stay overnight in La Bousquetiere in October, while touring the area with French friends who already knew the house and its charming hosts Marielle and Benoit. You will love staying here, for one night or much more. Three beautiful rooms upstairs and a complete self-contained holiday let on the ground floor. Furnishings are lovely and everything is comfortable and tasteful. Tea-making facilities in rooms. Bathrooms immaculate and well-stocked. Breakfast is incredible, with more home-made and local jam, cheese, bread etc than I have ever enjoyed. Marielle takes great pride in offering home-made food and local produce. When you are there, you must book a table d'hote dinner at least once. Wonderful food, with host and hostess at the centre of the table. Excellent cuisine, generous splashes of good wine, interspersed with lots of laughter and great company. Both hosts speak good English and are lovely, sparkling personalities who work very hard to provide their guests with a terrific experience. 
As well as visiting a variety of small townships, including Jausiers itself,  as you progress up the river valley,  the area is ideal for walkers, serious hikers, bikers and water sports, with white water rides, canoeing and canyonning available in season. We drove up the col de Vars and the valley of the Ubaye, and were stunned by the breathtaking alpine views at 2,200 metres. Roads are narrow and winding beyond Jausiers, so best for confident drivers!

A terrific stay-over with fabulous hosts

We travelled to Jausiers to cycle and  loved our stay at La Bousquriere! Marielle and Ben were the most welcoming and charming hosts and Marielle's dinners...sooo good! Our holiday included the best combination of sports, beautiful sceneries and amazing food, can recommend this place to everyone!

A perfect experience!

We stayed with Marielle and Ben for two blissful days. Had we known just how wonderful their home was then we would have booked for longer.  The mountain views are breathtaking.  The decor, the location, the total comfort was just superb and this was all before we enjoyed the food from Marielle's kitchen.  Gorgeous home cooked including the breakfast jams.  Thank you so much, We will be back.
