If you visit Loire Castles sleep in one at a reasonable price! Park location surrounded by lots of green - elegant atmosphere and comfortable beds - big bathrooms! Restaurant tasteful and almost fit for fine dining! Absolutely recommendable!

Stay in a Castle

We really enjoyed our three-night stay at the Chateau Beaulieu.  We were in the "Chambre Chateau", which overlooks the formal garden from the second floor.   

The Chambre Chateau was a very pleasant room, with charming view, and very quiet.  Very good bed, and a good night's sleep.

We also really liked our dinner at the Chateau.  (We ate dinner there only once; reservations recommended, and we tried to look suitably well dressed.)  We thought the food was delicious, and enjoyed the old-world, professional service and elegant atmosphere.  Very good breakfast.  

Charming hosts, who really care about the guests' hotel and dining experiences.  



Very enjoyable stay in a lovely private chateau

We stayed here for one night on a long drive through France, and booked an evening meal in their dining room.
The room was clean and comfortable, with air conditioning (in the Chateau) and had superb views across the gardens.
The evening meal was tremendous! Highly recommended.
The staff were charming and friendly, and spoke English when they realised our French was a bit basic.
We will stay here again I hope

Fantastic location, great food

We picked this hotel due to the proximity to the city centre of Tours and the beautiful grounds and gardens. We went through many room and date changes but, Estelle, our host made everything possible to accommodate us, to have the rooms together. She kept a constant communication with us and we were so happy. Thank you Estelle, we are looking forward to meet you in person.

Great value, close to Tours

Set in an idyllic location outside of Tours but easy access to the city by car.  Extremely helpful and friendly staff who made our stay very memorable.  We ate in the restaurant both evenings and although it was a small menu the food was amazing and they had an extensive wine menu.  The spa and treatments available are an added bonus.  We will definitely be returning.

A Truly Hidden Geam

The Chateau is a beautiful old building thats looking a little tire around the edges, but none the less an excellent place to stay. It is situated just South of Tours, but easy to get to by car, an excellent stopover for travellers going North - South through France. The grounds are extensive and lead down to a pretty little river, a great place to stay if you have your pet with you. The grounds and the main building are wonderful, as is the drinks terrace and the dining terrace, a must if you are staying for the evening meal. There are two menus options, three or four courses for 47 euros or 57 euros. The food is excellent, French fine dining, except that the main course was served just about warm enough and on cold plates, this needs attention. We throughly enjoyed our stay, a small luxury experience after a hard days driving from the South.

The bedrooms in the Pavilion are fairly standard/basic but do have wi-fi, shower and bath plus air con. As travellers, we could do with some tea and coffee making provisions to start the day off with, as the formal breakfast does not always suit those who need to get back on the road early the next day. As mentioned before, the main course food was not hot enough. The tatty torn cushion on the drinks terrace needs to be sorted out.

Wonderful Chateau, excellent location, excellent grounds for pets, lovely evening meal.

Both the Hotel and the Restaurant require a little renovation. The positive point was the Welcome and Service from all the Staff. A few improvements, updates and a little freshen up and this could be a good place to stay.

A little disappointing

We travel by car to our  2nd home in the Dordogne and like to have an interesting stopover. Looking for a halfway place we chose Chateau  de Beaulieu and stayed in the Pavilion , which is partway through being refurbished and so we had the place to ourselves and was very quiet plus closer to  where our car ( plus dog) was parked.
An earlier review says the place is too bling, but I felt that the family owners have done a lovely job of mixing  old and new.
Staff throughout the hotel were excellent and the dinner was just what we wanted after a day's driving, in an elegant dining room with attentive staff and an experienced chef.
Will definitely be using this hotel many times more.
Try it !

Stupendous stopover

Beautiful outside. Horrible access across gravel, up steep horseshoe steps and upstairs again for rooms. Ours was around 12m2 with a smallish double bed and no plugs for phone charging. Bathroom  was cramped and basic and the bath made of thin plastic so when standing in it to shower it felt unstable - it moved! Breakfast OK but bread needed special teeth...and it was midweek....tasted stale. Dinner was very average. Couple of starter freebies were not so good and really cheap.... Sauces on meat were over-reduced and too strong....how fresh were they? Meat tough. Not very successful.

Lovely outside. Otherwise not very good.

We booked a room in the Pavillion. First impressions from the outside but soon deteriorated from a very rude receptionist to a run down bedroom that might have been for staff accommodation. We had an option to pick a double bed when booking which turned out to be two single beds pushed together, no headboard on the bed either. The only plug socket near the bed was in the bathroom - not very safe ! The room and bathroom were very dated and could have done with refurbishment, very basic furniture. We chose not to eat in the restaurant as the reviews on Trip Advisor weren't good but we did have a drink on the terrace later in the evening. The waiter was very helpful and pleasant, shame the other staff member we encountered didn't have the same approach.
