We arrived later than expected after an exhilarating and exhausting trek in the nearby beautiful Valleé des Merveilles.  The bar and restaurant were very busy but we received a warm welcome from Robby and unwound with an apéro on the terrace.  Followed by a good dinner and excellent wine and slept well in the basic but nevertheless pleasant and clean room, with a view over the river and mountains.  Good and varied breakfast the following day included local produce, served by the ever cheeful Robby.  Would have gladly stayed longer.  Recommended.  MERCI A TOUS!

Fleur des fleurs!

Unpretentious, focused on great dining experience with wonderful host with a sense of humor and confidence in his restaurant and hotel.  We could only schedule one night, but made the most of it with dinner for five (mom/dad/son/grandsons).  We were given several options directly from the host who guided us through entrees, mains and desserts.  House wine was good.

As is often the case, the choices were challenging since they all sounded great and every selection was superb; the five of us couldn’t keep our forks off each other’s plates!  Strongly recommend the farcis (stuffed onion, tomato, zucchini, aubergine, and red pepper).  Veal tonnato, another fabulous entrée. Tomato/buffalo mozzarella was the ultimate culinary delight—you have not had tomatoes until you have tasted these—really!

View of the gorge & mountains was very pleasant too.

If this were in our back yard we would find this as our home…

Fabulous Flower of the Alps

We stayed here for 2 nights in late-May and can say for certain it is the type of place we look for when we travel, especially when our primary plan is to hike. It is a small, well managed, clean property that is family owned and operated, which in this case translated into friendly and great service. 

Our room had everything we needed, was clean and a nice view of the mountains, with the sound of the river outside our window at night. We enjoyed happy hour on the front patio after hiking each day but what really made Hôtel Fleur des Alpes special, in addition to the great staff, was the restaurant. We had dinner here both nights and the food was excellent. It seems clear they try to use local products whenever possible. We also enjoyed breakfast each day, which is included in the rate. 

Again, we love finding well run properties that focus on their guests and provide great value – we hope to return to this property again someday as it exceeded our expectations in every way.

Great staff, great value and great restaurant = great stay.

We stayed at Flour des Alpes for one night at the start of our honeymoon, as part of an On Foot Holidays walking trip. La Brigue is a sleepy French village. The hotel is fairly basic but very quaint. Our room had a gorgeous balcony overlooking the village square. Robbie, the owner, is exceptionally helpful and friendly. Our dinner was included and was delicious - generous portions of traditional and tasty French/Italian food. We had a lovely view over-looking the river. Knowing it was our honeymoon, Robbie threw in our wine for free. Robbie was also happy to give us a lift to the start of the walk in the morning. Fleur des Alpes provided the perfect start to our honeymoon! 

Lovely overnight stay 

We will have spent 3 nights at this hotel as part of our hiking holiday.  Our room is simple, clean and comfortable. The views from the dining room are picture postcard beautiful. The food has been superb - be sure to leave room for dessert!  Robi, the host, is just fabulous! His warmth, humour and care is what has really made this a wonderful place to stay.  Merci beaucoup, Robi.  It has been a pleasure to meet you.

Wonderful hotel, beautiful setting

We stayed for two nights on a hiking trip and really enjoyed it. The bedroom was simply furnished, but comfortable and clean - the view of the village and mountains from the balcony was stunning. Excellent choice of freshly prepared meals, using local ingredients. Not forgetting Robbi - a very welcoming host.

Warm hospitality in a wonderful mountain setting

could not have been a better experience for me. very clean, very warm and welcoming,  joyful owner, lovely staff, great food, simple and good and jovial all around. It was the highlight of my trip. Beautiful breakfast room looking out at the river and mountains.

This hotel is an old building and as such has the usual issues about where to squeeze in en-suite bathrooms. This is probably the only weak point ours was tiny and used a curtain to separate from the room. Not good for those who are self conscious (but there is another toilet in the stairwell...).

Other than that very good indeed, nicely decorated, excellent beds and linen, spacious room and a nice view on to the church area. In particular Robbie the owner is very fireldnly and helpful and makes for an enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Simple but good accomodation

We stayed here for one night - the first night of a 6 day hiking trip organized by On Foot Holidays. The hotel was very comfortable and he owner, Robert, was welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast in the dining room overlooking the river. Both were extremely good. I would stay here again if I was in La Brigue.

Enjoyed this hotel a lot

the hotel is in a lovely small square . Robbie , who we think is the owner, was a great character and very pleasant and helpful. We stayed the night and the room was ok with a tiny bathroom and very small shower with a curtain but it was all ok. We sat outside for a drink in the evening which was nice
