Amazing. Staff were so helpful. Great warm pool. "Tent" superb included fridge freezer  great shower, comfy bed and so much space. Even settee and tv. 12 minute walk to stunning La Flotte. We hired electric bikes. Best way to get around. We flew to La Rochelle and got bus to site for under £5. No need for car hire!

We bought a motorhome a few weeks before the pandemic and lockdown which meant that it was not until this summer we were able to take it across the channel to France. One week of our fortnight abroad was at La Flotte, a place I did not know at all before arriving there, other than their website and online reviews. It is always something of a risk therefore when you hit return and book a site under those circumstances but, for us at least, it was a great choice.
The Ile de Re is a beautiful location and the crossing on the bridge from the mainland is spectacular. Arrival at reception was quick and straightforward and we were soon hooking up to our pitch situated close to the pool. I am sure some would say the ground was somewhat dusty and lacking in natural shade but it is high summer and almost all the pitched do have some natural shade. Being close to the pool was not a problem. The site was quiet despite being busy and our children loved being able to enjoy the pool to the full. It was always accessible, never over-crowded, frequently the opposite, clean and enjoyable. Be aware there is no shallow end - the pool is a constant depth all its length - but there is a shallow pool too. There were plenty of loungers to recline on and soak up the sun.
The supermarket is close at hand and is well stocked. There is a garage too selling reasonably priced fuel including gazole. A bit more of a walk away is La Flotte itself. We loved it there too. The walk takes about 15 minutes, there are plenty of pavements and there are cyclists everywhere, so it felt safe and relaxed. The streets you walk down are attractive with plenty of flowering shrubs and no litter. 
La Flotte is a small harbour with plenty of shops and places for food and there was often evening entertainment provided free of charge. 
The beach is a further 10 minute walk away. It is nice and sandy, although the tide goes out a long way revealing sea grass underfoot. It comes in quickly and the beach shrinks in size but there is plenty of grass above the beach on which to  sit and picnic. The water was warm and we had no problems getting in.
We travelled around the island on a couple of days and it is well worth exploring. There are great beaches and towns to be discovered.
Electric hook up was fine and there are plenty of water points. There is an area set aside for disposal. 
We found the toilets and showers of a high standard. They were very regularly cleaned and there were no issues with toilet paper. 
We did visit the entertainment area for a few drinks to listen to singers performing in the evening on a couple of occasions. Prices were fine but we did not eat there. Plenty of people did and looked to be having some good paella for example. 
The staff were universally helpful and clear. We had to cancel taking our dog at the last minute and although we could not get a refund, we were credited so that we could spend the money at the site. That was easy enough with some nice wine available in the shop at reception.
I would very happily stay there again and am grateful to the staff who worked hard to provide their visitors with a memorable holiday.

Fantastic discovery, paying €18 a night for a motorhome pitch with good facilities, courtesy of the ACSI camping card.Nice big hedge lined pitches, friendly English speaking staff and great swimming pool. The village and harbour, claimed to be the best in France, is a 10 minute walk away from the site and there is a big supermarket, accessed through a forested area, 5 minutes away. Stayed for 5 nights as opposed to the planned one night stopover.

Fantastic value for money, great facilities.

From the moment we booked with Mathilde and Celine, we were in good hands as they were extremely friendly and accommodating. We stayed in the Sweet Flowers and they have all mods con. If you are looking for a cabin feel to your camping experience, this is it. Smell of wood, peaceful surroundings. They are canvas so expect a bit of birds singing, people chatting etc... The pool is a good size & reasonably quiet early June. The town centre is 15 mins walk so very convenient. Fully stocked supermarket at the back of the campsite.

For a comfortable, next to nature experience with a friendly welcome

Loved being there.  Stunning weather, location and facilities.  We were there for two nights and were able to spend time relaxing, exploring and soaking up the atmosphere. I will certainly book to stay here again.

Clean, tidy and well located site

Great position close to La Flotte town.  Whole island is great for cycling.
Good large pitch and great swimming pool much used during the heatwave but well maintained throughout.
Toilets a bit dated and showers get very wet underfoot but always hot water.    Good value and helpful staff.

Good site near to La Flotte

Pros:
 - Good price / value
 - Kids loved the pool - pool was always very clean
 - bouncy castles, games room etc great for kids
 - excellent location just on edge of beautiful town La Flotte
 - good pizza at the onsite snack bar
 - giant supermarket 5 mins walk away
 - lovely setting in pine forest, plenty of shade

Cons:

- All 3 toilet / shower blocks are pretty terrible and seriously in need of updating and far more frequent cleaning. Often they were disgustingly filthy. Showers that just dribbled, no soap anywhere, toilet paper always stuck in the dispensers, etc etc. We have stayed in another flower campsite and the toilets were much better!!!

 - We took our own tent and ended up having to take it down and repitch in a different space TWICE which was a giant hassle. First time, they gave us a really terrible tiny pitch, not nearly big enough (smallest pitch on the site) and right on the road - terrible for the kids. They initially refused to move us even though we'd booked our trip 7 months before! We made a big fuss though, and they eventually moved us to a pitch that we could actually fit in and where our children wouldn't be playing ON the road. Then 2 days later we had to move again! Because the system they use for marking out the pitches is awful and it turned out that not only were we in the wrong section, but so were at least 5 other families along the same side of the campsite. 
They need to sort this out and also they need to send a staff member to accompany new arrivals to avoid pitching in the wrong place! Not difficult to do.

Overall I would definitely recommend for family camping, but make sure you get them to take you to your pitch before you set up! And remember the loo roll!!

Great family campsite overall -  but needs a few changes

This was well into our second week when we arrived here.
From our first campsite this was a little more crowded and pitches were a little more closer together with no real privacy between each pitch
We were given a pitch out at the back of the park which was near the main road and as some have mentioned this in the morning was a little noisy from the early hours
Also we were opposite what must be staff quarters as twice we were told to stop making too much noise at around 8 in the evening as our children were happily playing 'boules' 

The pool is nice and adjacent to the snack bar
The snack bar is adequate for a quick bite and does speciality evenings which was good
As mentioned by others please don't fear using what French you know as it does go along way with the staff

Unfortunately the toilet block and shower block are a little dated on the side of the park we were on and not always kept as clean as should have been at times

However if you don't mind walking then the blocks behind the reception seem to be much newer and in a much better condition

One thing is to definitely hire a bike, my family hired bikes and the island is well connected by a superb network of cycle paths which run between beaches and the sites on the island

La Flotte is a wonderful fishing village and has some lovely restaurants, it does get busy due to popularity but lovely never the less

Nice campsite in a good location

Not so friendly staff, and absolutely NO WiFi available on the campsite, despite the description. No useful information at the desk either. Quite noisy neighbourhood as well.
Swimming pool is nice and bike rental very useful.
We are a bit disappointed.

Poor services

Decent campsite with a good swimming pool. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Pitch wasn't the best - quite cramped and backed up against a wall. Bar area is not the best - the food looked very basic (burgers and pizza). The location of the site is excellent - a short walk into La Flotte and only 3 km from St Martins, both of which are well worth a visit.
