A wonderful warm welcome from Caroline and Nicolas as always.Villas are spotlessly clean and exceptionally well equipped.Comfortable beds.Bikes for hire available in the Residence. Excellent location for touring Ile de Ré.

Great holiday in La Flotte

Le Clos is a fantastic collection of villas close to the centre of La Flotte. We have stayed here many times and never been disappointed. The owners, Nicolas and Caroline, are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The villas themselves are modern and well kept. We'll definitely be back again! 

Fantastic place to stay on the Ile de Re

We have just returned from a lovely holiday on Île de Ré , staying in a 2 bedroom villa at les Clos des Vieux Moulins, La Flotte . We were warmly welcomed by the owner , Nicolas , who was very helpful throughout our stay. The villa was very well equipped, tasteful and stylish with a private courtyard / garden where we could eat outside. It wasn't far to walk into the village of La Flotte , through the charming little streets , full of white washed houses with green shutters . Unfortunately the hollyhocks which border the streets were nearly over now so we didn't see them at their best, but they must be beautiful  earlier in the summer. A memorable holiday .


A wonderful place !

Just back from a fantastic week in the Ile de Re. First visit and we weren’t disappointed. Booked Le Clos des Vieux Moulin on the basis of online reviews and really pleased to have found the accommodation and surroundings to be even better than expected. Nicolas and Caroline could not have been more helpful from the point of booking onwards and really delivered great customer care throughout. The accommodation is really well located on both bus and cycle routes, enabling easy car-free transport across the island and access to lovely La Flotte. It is also well designed providing just the right combination of private and shared space. No hesitation in recommending.

Fantastic base for Ile de Re family holiday

See our 2015 review. Nicolas and Caroline provide an excellent service and there is everything available to ensure a great holiday in these units. They now also have a bicycle hire facility which adds to the benefits.

No change in 4 years! Still "PERFECT"

100%satisfied . Accommodation spotless ,stylish and very comfortable.Good big beds.Li nen and great .Shower and bath - plenty of hot water , chilling out patio area great. Proprietor friendly ,and welcoming. I would have no hesitation in recommending this accomadition in Ile de Re to family and friends

First class layout of villa.Excellent facilities in a superb location.

As most other reviews point out its well designed and situated. So why the but?
The chalets are very close together so if you have a noisy family nearby it's  a pain. 
Also they are back to back so when it's hot there is no airflow through the house. Avoid No 14 as it's next to the bin store which smells terrible.
Very well equipped. TV French only. No DVD. WiFi poor. I'm quite IT savvy but never got it to work. 
The owners are very helpful.


OK but.....

We stayed here during the second week of July. The house was compact but well-designed and stylish, and the facilities and fixtures were of an extremely high quality. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. There is secure parking and also secure storage for bikes (which was incredibly useful) within the residence and a private, enclosed, courtyard garden in front of the house.  Our teenage children enjoyed using the table-tennis room. Nicolas and Caroline, the owners, were very welcoming and helpful - advising on bus routes, recommending bike hire and restaurants (particularly La Cabane Ocean - oysters direct from the producer served on an amazing terrace by the sea), and booking a taxi for us.
We have visited Ile de Re several times before but this was the first time we've stayed in La Flotte. The residence was only a few minutes cycle or a short walk from the port. The daily market in La Flotte was a food-lovers' paradise and there was lots of choice for restaurants. We managed without a car for the entire week - arriving by train from Paris and bus from La Rochelle, and then cycling around the island.
We had a fantastic vacation staying at Le Clos des Vieux Moulins and I would thoroughly recommend the accommodation - I'm sure we'll book to stay here again!

Well-designed and excellent facilities in a superb location

100% satisfied.  Accommodation clean, stylish and comfortable. Good, big beds. Linen and towels great. Shower and bath - plenty of hot water.  Private courtyard for family meals and BBQ.  
Secure parking and coded access only, so very secure. Storage for bikes and table tennis provided.
Location only a few mins by bike from the port - everybody cycles!  Bike hire shops everywhere, but if you are choosy about what you ride, best bring your own, otherwise be prepared a well made tank.
The island is a paradise for family cycling, surfing, wind-surfing, SUP, sailing and loads more.
The market at La Flotte is a mini Harrods food hall.
Sometimes found La Flotte restaurants dear for quality and better value eating in La Rochelle- so bring a fishing rod- catch your own FISH and. BBQ at the apartment.
Stansted to La Rochelle direct 1h 15mins and then 20 minutes by car.  (But it is RyanAir...), so provided the flights work it is a doddle.
