Excellent in every way. Fernanda is very helpful and speaks about 10 languages. Very good breakfast included. Very good location: within 10 or so minutes of the port. Very nice park nearby. The house is beautifully furnished. Be sure to stay at this gem.

Excellent place, great host.

We have just spent a wonderful week at this splendid hotel. For our first holiday in La Rochelle we wanted a quiet spacious room, a visitor lounge and some outdoor space within an easy walk of the centre. Villa Verde certainly delivered and exceeded all our expectations. 

Fernanda the owner made us very welcome and patiently explained all the visitor attractions and dining possibilities in this historic and stylish resort.

The whole place is spotlessly clean, the breakfast was delicious and the decor and furnishings reflect Fernanda’s elegant style. 

We cannot recommend highly enough and as an added bonus the airport bus stop is just outside.

Friendly and Stylish

My husband and I have just stayed 4 nights at Ville Verde at the end of May/early June, staying in The Emerald Room, with the adjoining dressing/spare bedroom.  From the moment we arrived, 2 hours late due to air traffic problems, our host Fernanda & Denise were so charming, helpful and lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they even offered to go out shopping to accommodate my husband's diabetic requirements. We will definitely recommend Ville Verde to friends and family.

Fantastic! Excellent! Lovely Stay!

Excellent service, very kind host, clean modern rooms, nice and personalized breakfast, close to the city center, living to relax, we booked a room + little separated room where our little girl could sleep (very practical), you can order nice food from local restaurant.

Relaxing stay with 2 year old child

Beautifully decorated house with a peaceful atmosphere. Well located near a large park and within walking distance to the harbour. Our host Fernanda was very helpful and offered many suggestions on things to do in the area. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was delicious and generous. We also enjoyed spending time in the lovely living room/lounge.

We stayed here on our way back from Spain for just one night.The welcome was friendly with all the staff speaking good English.
Our room was a good size with a large king sized bed  spotlessly clean and very comfortable Sadly the bathroom was on the small size but everything worked as expected.
Beware free parking on sight is in fact on the street they have five bedrooms but only three parking spaces outside the hotel.
Breakfast was outstanding with hand prepared fruit salad very fresh bread and croissants ham cheese and the usual yogurt and fruit juices  Unusually for France the hotel has a very comfortable residents lounge a real bonus we think
This is certainly the best hotel we stayed in over a 6day journey and parking apart we thoroughly recommend it

Excellent value for money

We were unlucky to visit La Rochelle during the heatwave of may 2017, it was 32 degrees Celsius. This also effected our stay at the Villa Verde. 

The b&b is lovely. An ancient building, nicely renovated with nice rooms and a nice breakfast/living room. It is within walking distance of the old town (10-15 minutes). Parking is on the streets, for free, with ample space. 

The room we had was very nice, with a good bed and nice bathroom and shower. But there is no airco so the room was also 32 degrees. We did not sleep much...

The host was very friendly and helpful assisting us in every possible way. She even fixed us a drink (Cognac) when we arrived after dinner and wanted to sit on the balcony to cool off. 

All in all highly recommended when staying in La Rochelle, except maybe during Heatwaves. 

Arrived on 14th May which was cold and rainy. Grated and helped you the steps at the front and stairs to room with my suitcase. Told if anything needed to ring or email. The TV did not work and the room was freezing. I rang the number in the card given and emailed. No response whatsoever. All instructions on back of door in French only. In the morning the owner did not apologise for anything merely asking if I had a nice stay. When I told her the room was cold she blamed the weather. I later received an email saying the heating is switched off at the beginning of May.
The premises is clean and within walking distance of the port (20 mins). Breakfast good. Free parking on road nearby. However it is in front of blocks of high rise flats which look rather intimidating.
