This is a modest establishment and the kind couple that runs it does a remarkable job considering their limited budget for running a heritage building that invariably demands a lot of upkeep to be in line with fire and safety regulations. Don't expect luxury but do expect a warm welcome which in true French style becomes truly warm once you order a good bottle of wine and some delicious whiskey from their surprisingly good selection after dinner. The hostess may seem offstandish at first but she actually has quite a quirky sense of humour and is a kind person. Her husband opens the wine at your table, is never at a loss for words and enjoys tending bar and chatting after dinner. I was reticent upon arrival but in the end I was extremely pleased with our stay. We ate, drank and slept well in a picturesque countryside hunters lodge without breaking the bank.
