Very nice old house restored in a relaxing greenery setting. Warm welcome by the couple of owners, open to exchange. Delicious meal with reunion specialties, prepared by people who are very familiar with this culinary tradition.

One of our best meals this year, a very good memory.

The five-day stay was very pleasant, the guests were very charming, the rooms were warm and spacious, all in a splendid setting.

The Pladuc estate is a beautiful place, where you feel like you're in a bubble.Shandra and Bernard are wonderful people who make your stay or event great.They're there whenever you need them, every little detail they care about.They're generous and make this place a real family coconut.

The reception from the original Reunion owners is very warm. The spacious and elegant beds in the rooms are absolutely fabulous! Sleep of the Just Guaranteed! We especially enjoyed the Reunion cuisine specialties invented by Bernard and Shandra. An unforgettable time spent in a green setting. Many walks in and around the estate. We will return with great pleasure during our next stay in Charentes.

The owners were very hospitable and arranged for our stay. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the swimming pool and its green environment. We also enjoyed breakfast.

Super stay with family in this large charming house (beautiful park, swimming pool...) with elegant decoration. The hosts are very thoughtful and thoughtful. They have taken over and redecorated this beautiful site recently and they deserve the best possible SEO. We stayed there for the Cognac air meeting and enjoyed the proximity (less than 20 minutes by car). The area is very beautiful as well. On a more culinary note, the owners are from Réunion and will offer you a dinner of succulent gathered specialties (my son keeps an emotional memory of the smoked sauce:-)) An address to remember and to promote.

A very pleasant stay at our hosts. We had a Wonderbox box and no problems with booking. We were warmly welcomed in a beautiful and large room. We were served a pleasant meeting meal. Cooked and mixed with great care. We recommend you come and discover this little snack. We leave looking forward to returning.

I would have liked to have put 0 but it was impossible I had reserved this domain for my wedding in July 2020. As a result of Covid, we had made the decision in April 2020 to postpone to June 2021. It's very complicated to arrange a wedding, even more so during COVID. Finding a date when all my providers were available was no small feat. And finally, 6 months later, they changed their minds asking me to postpone again under the pretext that they wouldn't be able to host us. It was impossible for me to find a common date for the other 15 providers. They won't try to help us. Everything was already elsewhere.

With the exceptional reviews and scores, I was a bit sceptical when booking.  But I was overjoyed to discover that everything is true!  
The location is idyllic - located a stone's thrown from Cognac but out in the countryside, i.e., out in the country! Upon arrival, guests drive onto the property through a tall stone archway with a cypress tree on each side. What an introduction! See photos.
The Domaine de Pladuc, dating from the mid-18th century, used to be a cognac distillery. The house's architecture is wonderful, classic. See photos. You open the front door and find what appears to be the original spiral staircase leading to the 2nd floor. Wonderful. On the property is a river, and is amid lots of beautiful trees. On the property are a number of interesting buildings previously used to make and store cognac in the distant past. 
There is a nice grass area in front of the house for kids. There is also a well-maintained swimming pool with a covered patio area complete with tables and a Weber gas grill.  
Parking is on-site, within the confines of the property. 
Cognac is a short 20 or so drive from the Domaine de Pladuc. It has its fair share of bars and restaurants. As per French health rules, you will need your Covid passport QR to be served, even outdoors.
One town I enjoyed in the area was Jonzac which, again, was probably 20 minutes away. Lots of nice architecture. The Rue de Champagnac was interesting - a medieval street (basically a series of tunnels). Curious.
The lovely young couple that runs the Domaine de Pladuc have not had it for very long. But they are enthusiastic and very passionate about their project and try their best to keep their guests happy. They obviously love what they do and the guests can feel that.
Food. Breakfast was included. In my case, I had a jumbo expresso with bread with cheese and jam.  If  you want to eat at the hotel, give them a bit of notice and they will be happy to cook for you. The couple lived on the Indian Ocean island of La Reunion for years and, given the photos posted, they seem to know what they are doing!  Next time, I will ask them to prepare me something.
The Domaine de Pladuc was listed on my TomTom GPS device so I had no difficulty finding the hotel. I believe WAZE also has it listed. Note that the house has a Lachaise mailing address though the town itself is around 1km away. Search for Pladuc.  I saw GPS coordinates given for the hotel on a French website. I suspect they couple can also provide it if you contact them.
The couple is French but they speak both French and decent English. Thankfully!! They are very open, friendly, and love to chat. I could go on but this is enough. I will definitely return next year.
Internet. The hotel has free wifi though I did not need it. I used my phone. Some comments indicate wifi coverage within the house is spotty, which may be the case. The owners are trying to sort it out. It is an old house with thick walls. Coincidentally, fiber optic cable was being installed out on the street during my visit so I assume that should improve connectivity in the near future. 
This is small, family-owned operation with the advantages and disadvantages inherent to such. To me, it adds charm and humanity. You become part of the family.
Various towns nearby (10-20 kms), including Cognac, for those interested in bars and restaurants. I got a kebab in nearby Barbezieux. Nice castle there, too.

We spent two nights with my wife for our 15th birthday and I have to say it was great, everything was there: the welcome, the calm, the comfort of the bed and most of all the guest table!
