Hot house in a park, quiet, and has five minutes of old little passionate owners who love sharing, and who are real proper room, spacious, excellent breakfast, in agreement with the owners, everything is homemade, bread, pastries, cake, yogurt

charming house of hotes

Thank you very much to Isabelle and Jean-Luc for their wonderful welcome to the Château des Ormes where we stayed 2 nights. The place is warm and well decorated, the breakfast is exceptional (everything is homemade, bread, yogurt, cakes...). A very pleasant guest house where we had very friendly exchanges (around a good beer), both with the owners and travelers. But also good advice for tours and restaurants in the city. We will be back with great pleasure!

Like at a friend's house.

An old-fashioned charm with all the necessary comforts, and most importantly, a genuine welcome and a time of sharing that we have greatly enjoyed, a place we highly recommend, and note the very pleasant and rural setting despite its proximity to the centre of Lille.

Very nice place very friendly person very friendly and very enriching exchange very clean room very quiet place to recommend absolutely lunch full of good products made by the housekeeper looking forward to going back

On arriving at the very overgrown gated drive we drove in past a very scruffy and unkept garden . We were greeted by madam after waiting for her to open the battered door which was locked . A  fire was burning in the hearth  which was the old bright thing in the place . A musty smell and very very scruffy . We were shown our bedrooms which look very good on the website ,however in reality were certainly cluttered and very uninviting with horrid bathrooms and dark brown blankets on the bed . There was no way we were going to stay there so we left 
I must warn you that some how or other other people ! have written good reports on this venue  which we could not understand and it made us think about where these reports could possibly have come from 
There were four of us looking forward to a pleasant weekend in Lille so we got off to a very bad start ! 
We left the hotel as no way no of us would stay in such a run down place

Fantastic! Loved the breakfast! Beds are great! Friendly, clean and it has relaxing atmosphere!  The owners were extremely welcoming. It’s amazing to stay in a old house that feels a bit like a castle. Only great things to report!  



Relaxing and friendly 

The owners of thissmall chateau on the ourskirts of Lille are really friendly and made us feel very welcome.
We were the only guests, so were invited to join them for our breakfasts and we diacussed our planned expeditions into the fascinating old city of Lille with them,  and they gave us a number of helpful yips,  covering where to park and museums to visit to best shopping areas and markets to visit.
We'll be going back ... three sayswas no whetr near long enough to see all there is in the city alone,  not to mention visits to other places in Flanders like Iper and Ghent.

Friendly chateau near Lille

This  chateau is small, quiet and comfortable. Rooms are large and  clean. Shower facilities are small and lacking toiletries. Hosts are very accommodating and breakfast was good. Close to Lille but away from the busy parts. Price is a little higher than expected but not unreasonable..

Quiet Chambre D'Hote

We arrived at the 'hotel' mid afternoon to find an imposing metal gate through which we could not access. We called the owner who gave us the code. We went in to find a house in front of unkempt gardens that was locked and inaccessible and frankly looked like no one had been in it for a long time. We called the owner again who told us to come back after 18.00. We had travelled for a long time wanted to get out have a drink and a shower. The property is in the middle of nowhere so had no choice but just to leave again. We decided not to return as it was clear this wasn't really a hotel at all. The owner levied the full charge which included breakfast which tells you all you need to know really.

Not really a hotel at all 

Here's what we read on the website: The Ormes Château offers you 5 cozy rooms all decorated with taste. Every morning you are offered a delicious, varied, homemade and gourmet breakfast. A real guest room spirit. In my eyes, the price of the room is fixed relative to the outside but inside: the room is not at the level (unclean mock-up, perforated sheet, very average decoration), the breakfast is not at all home (small heated loaves, industrial sticks) and there is no welcome. So objectively, I am disappointed!
