Camping-Caravaning L'Evasion

Loved our 2week holiday, our caravan was lovely and couldn’t fault it! Site is great, could do with more regular cleaning round the pool and toilets with the sand all over the floor. We couldn’t join in with the activities and entertainment due to the language barrier which was a shame. Pool is much smaller than the photos and gets extremely busy. But other than that we loved our holiday 🤩

Stayed here for 7 nights with my family. The Animation crew were amazing. We are english speakers and they tried to translate everything so that we were involved. The pool entertainment was really good and kept everyone active. There is 5 pools and all well kept. The bar staff were good the food was lovely. We will happily return to this site for another holiday. Good links to the beach and supermarkets which are a 10 min drive away. Very good availability of morning bread without having to order, all made on site. We toured with a trailer tent and had our own toilet shower and kitchen area which was very easy. 

This campsite is great for young kids. They can play in the pool or at the lagune. 
The beach is very nice to visit as well and only 10min away (free parking). 
Staff is very kindly and is english speaking. 

We had a great stay, really. There are some improvements to consider. The double-beds in the lodges could use improvement. Entertainment is only in French. There are quite some native English and Dutch speaking guests, a native English and Dutch addition to the childrens Animation team is really something you should consider.
Other than that, we had great fun and the campsite is overall good value for money. Location is great with fun towns and beaches in the proximity.

We have currently been here for a week now. Both my wife and I and the two girls have had a great time.  Plenty to do for a six and three year old. Loving the slides and warm swimming pools.  Staff have been great.  The activity staff have also been great with children. When it’s time for them on poolside the pool
Is locked with everyone dancing. Great atmosphere.  Highly recommend.  

We have brought a caravan.  The pitch is fine. The extra three rooms with toilet kitchen and shower are great.  The only thing missing for us is a chemical waste and a tap For the caravan. Other than that no issues at all.

Great swimming pool and Superb artificial beach perfect for children. The mobile home and spots are really good. Very difficult to get use of the kids club which is not great. A bit far from the beach

Very nice spot

We have been camping in France for the last five years as it is the ideal holiday with small children. Every year we try a different campsite around the Vendée region, as there is so much to do with children around the region.
So this year we stayed two weeks in Camping l'Évasion. 

The mobile itself was lovely- very modern, and a lovely space around the mobile.

Another positive was the food in the restaurant Le Vïhaïpi- it was excellent- delicious pizzas!

It had a beautiful lagoon swimming pool, very big with a manmade beach all around it. However after a few days it started to look quite murky and alot of stagnant mossy little puddles forming around the edges, so I would question how they are filtering the pool adequately. The kids loved it though, and thought they were at the beach without the hassle of actually having to go to the beach.

The biggest disappointment for us was the lack of kids club. We as parents LOVE kids club as it gives us a bit of freedom for a couple of hours and the children love kids club as they get to socialize and have fun with their peers. However at L'Évasion, they had a limited number of places and you had to book the previous day for the following day- yet every time we went it was already booked up, no matter how early in the day we went to the reception. One afternoon there happened to be a slot free out of a two week holiday. Whether, us being English speaking in an extremely French campsite had anything to do with the lack of spaces I don't know.

Another huge disappointment was the kids disco one evening. Our girls were all excited and all dressed up- but all the disco consisted of was 'an entertainer' (I use that term lightly!!!) at the top of the hall over inflating balloons so that they burst within minutes while children just walked around the hall throwing their balloons or crying over their loss! All the time there were the same two songs on a loop with no sign of any singing or dancing being done. 

The BBQ rental was extortionate at €50 for the two weeks- especially when it was only the size of a dinner plate and could only cook 2 burgers at a time!!!

Wifi was also very expensive which was another unexpected expense. 

Another disappointment was that there was no safe cycle track from the campsite to cycle with the girls. We had to bundle the bikes back onto the bike rack to drive to a cycle track- which kind of defeated the purpose! The Vendée is renowned for its cycle tracks yet not along L'Évasion's stretch of road.
The mobile was lovely and there was nice space around it, yet I don't think we will be returning there for our family holiday again!


Don't think we'll be back!

Very nice campsite.
bad sleep quality due to the laud music from the bar which was close to our bungalow.
It would be good to be able to choose the location of the bungalow in the camping if one wants to party or have a quiet stay.
