We were here for three nights as apart of a large party commemorating the 4th November 1918. The owner and staff were excellent and incredibly friendly, the chef was very proud of his dishes, and so he should be. We stayed in a family suite in an annex by the breakfast room. It was every large with separate areas for the en-suite, kitchenette / sitting area and bedroom. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the rooms and water had excellent access to warm water and heat. Room heat controlled by radiators. Room furniture was slightly dated but comfortable and in good condition. Great location to explore the locality.

Following The Welsh Divisions WW1

The manager and staff, who run this most unique hotel, were fabulous. We were part of a large group but nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were warm and immaculate and the food provided was of a great standard. The icing on the cake for me was the well stocked bar, in a large room where our group could talk over the days events next to a roaring open fire. A great weekend, thank you. We definitely be back.

The owner of the hotel was excellent, he really made us at home straight away.. extremely friendly and pleasant stay...
Excellent selection of beer, so welcoming, I was really impressed by the owners attitude and professional approach.  We came as a selection of English motorcyclists and the owner was not fazed at all! .. before we knew it we had tables, chairs, umbrellas and cold beers it was excellent after a long ride...
It is rare that you get such a genuine and warm welcome from any person!
The hotel was very clean, I was really impressed at the standard of the finish throughout.. 
The breakfast was very good.. lovely fresh bread and a good selection of meats/cheese/coffee was readily available.. juices/croissants and all the good stuff!
The restaurant is closed on a Friday night but we were informed of a local restaurant which fulfilled our requirements..
On the Saturday night the hotel's restaurant was open and what a great meal we had! the chef was excellent, the food was prepared so well.. everything tasted great! The owner has such amazing energy that he seems to be constantly working! I was in awe of this guy! It is very pleasing to know that there are people out there who are happy to do a great job and really make sure that everyone is having a great time throughout...

Excellent hotel

Very peaceful out of town centre location, slightly quirky layout with very pleasant characterful rooms furnished and finished to a high standard around a central lawned courtyard. Bar area and excellent restaurant (food was superb!) in a seperate building ensured a peaceful nights sleep. 
Very welcoming, helpful and personable host, for whom nothing was too much trouble, Francois provided the personal touchs and ambience only a family-owned and run business can provide.

Looked for a last minute place to crash after doing the pave section of the Paris Roubaix with a friend. Saw this on trip advisor. Ran much later than expected. Turned up well after the reception closing time. The owner stayed up to make sure we were ok, rang around the local take-aways to see if any of them were open, and went and cooked us something from his kitchen when everywhere was closed. Then made some great wine recommendations...lovely end to a fun bumpy day.
