We stayed here for 1 night whilst touring round France. The property itself is set in beautiful grounds and at one time must have been a very grand and stunning property. We were shown to our room on the 2nd floor - as its an old house there is no lift, so rather than lug our cases all the way up we just got what we needed from the car for 1 night - its a safe location so we had no worries about leaving anything in the car. 

Whilst the bed was comfortable and we slept well, it felt as if the decor was pretty old and needs a bit of a refresh. Breakfast was extra as was the hot tub if you wanted to use it. Breakfast was good - especially the 'Pain Perdu' which was an unexpected surprise.

As for our hosts - they were polite and friendly, but not overly warm - it did seem odd that in the morning when our hostess left whilst we were having breakfast there was no niceity of a goodbye or hope you enjoyed your stay.

However if you are looking for a comfortable bed for a night or two then this is a good option - be aware that if you are not taking dinner there then it is about a 10 to 15 min drive to any of the nearby restaurants.

A comfortable nights sleep

I stopped in a Manor House. What a great place, lovely real French rooms with a character. I wish my French was better as I would have loved to have learned about the history behind this building. Set in a very quite off the track spot with peace and quiet. Evening meal was a regional specialty, which I totally enjoyed, it was a shame that there was not a choice of main course as it did not suit all in our party. Breakfast was typically French but at least you could boil your own eggs. I can only wish this hotel? every success.

To The Manor Born

Sadly only a one night stop in this delightful logis. A very warm welcome to an atractive if small room ontyhesod floor. Quite an isolated spot some little way outside Laqueille itself but none the worse for that because of the peace and quietness of the surrounding area. An enjoyable and very filling evening meal of local cooking, and an excellent breakfast. A charming and very friendly hostess. In all an evenig to rememb er.

Country delights

The auberge is situated in the middle on the countryside easily reached von the motorway that is nearby, but far enough not to be nuisance. The people there were very friendly and helpful, and the evening meal they served was a regional speciality, that one would not normally eat in other houses. The rooms were individually decorated by the owners and not "designed" by an anonymous architect. One got for no extra cost a star filled sky at night, as this place is in an area where light pollution is minimal.
