So disapiiting place. 
The ownder doesnt come to welcome and has a help tgat doesnt soeak english. 
No light at night a very dark. 
Did not turn the heat at late Sep even if we asked. 
WIFI is not working! 
We ran iut the day after. 
It is a simple bed and breakfast.

This property is a lovely old private manoir with added rooms for guests. We had the family suite with a large double bed and in the sitting room two small sofa beds. All was renovated to high standard. A few things missing, but they are working on adding a closet for hanging clothes. Wifi worked fine for us, pool was really lovely and clean and the garden! The housekeeper we spoke with discreet but helpful and cheerful. Breakfast was continental with a yogurt. Secure parking on the grounds. If you have mobility problems, the family suite might not be the best choice as access is from a narrow wooden spiral staircase and the bathtub in bathroom is a sitdown affair and slightly hard to get in and out of. Would have preferred a shower stall. But not really a problem for us. This is not a hotel, but a private house with rooms. Everything was fabulous!

The house is lovely however. Rooms are accessed via steep spiral staircases. Not suitable for people with limited mobility.
Breakfast was basic with no flexibility on time.
.Room not cleaned daily,  not well equipped ie limited storage, no fridge in room. Shower hand held in bath. 
Housekeeper did not speak English and the owner was was not welcoming and distance themselves from guests.
Dangerous access to property.

Poor value

Beautiful location and surroundings, perfect for a visit to the region. The building is charming, full of feeling of old traditional Europe. The pool area is very inviting and the garden terrace looks out over the mansion park (ask for a room with view on the pool). We only stayed one night, and were well taken care of by a very efficient housekeeper. Breakfast was fine, although not fantastic (croissants, bread, boiled eggs, and unfortunately the coffee machine did not provide very good coffee).

One night stay

The Manoir is a beautiful property in lovely grounds with a swimming pool and several acres of woodland. 
 Our room on the first floor was reached by a narrow staircase which was a little difficult to negotiate with heavy luggage but was beautifully decorated and had a very spacious and well equipped bathroom with good toiletries, a decent sized bath and plenty of piping hot water. Breakfast is served in a very elegant dining room - a help yourself affair with a wide selection of fresh fruits, croissants, chocolate pains etc... 
 Our only real criticism concerns the location. Whilst ideally situated for visiting many of the Loire chateaux (particularly Chennonceau and Amboise - both mind blowing), Larcay itself is very quiet and strung out along a busy main road with few restaurants within walking distance. There is a bar across the road with a pleasant patio area at the rear but otherwise one is pretty dependant on getting in a car to find any sustenance in the evening. The entrance to the property is also a trifle awkward, being on the corner of the said busy main road.
 However, the owners are delightful and the maid extremely friendly and helpful. Sadly because of the location we probably won't be returning - a real pity as in almost every other respect this is a really super place.

Beautiful Property

We stayed here for just one night and arrived earlier in the afternoon. I didn't realize that the 5pm check-in was a bit more strict than I thought, so we were made to feel like jerks. We then found out that breakfast was from 830 to 9 which seemed a bit strict considering that it was pastries and fruit, cheese and meat (i.e. doesn't need to be prepared) left out family style for the guests and we happened to be the only ones there. We had come back late the night before and just wanted to sleep in so my partner ended up skipping breakfast and I just had a quick bite before going for a run. The room was great and the place is great, but found that their strict times was a bit over the top. I wouldn't stay here if you plan to go for a walk/run or want to sleep in on your vacation.

Really Nice Place But...

I love this place and visited for the second time last week, bringing my aunt and my mother with me.  We all had separate rooms, my mother's was a suite with a lovely sitting room and we stayed for three nights. The hosts Mr & Mme Zeiler are so charming.  Mr Zeiler even bought me a cable for my iPhone while he was in town as mine had broken. The house and all the rooms are beautiful, breakfast is delicious and served in the most elegant dining room.  The grounds are extensive and the pool is very refreshing after a long day out in the sun!  It is the perfect setting for exploring the Touraine, just outside Tours with some lovely restaurants a short drive away and the local eatery La Planchette is just delightful, although not at all posh. I would return every year if I could and cannot recommend this place highly enough!!

Fantastic!

We loved this charming period manor house; the Rose Chambre was beautifully decorated almost like one from the many chateaux nearby. 
Although from the map the TGV rail-line looks fairly close, don’t worry, the tree filled park surrounding the house makes it seem miles away, the gardens and rooms are so peaceful and tranquil.
The owners are completely charming, friendly and speak perfect English (and are probably fluent in a few other languages too). As we were on the motorway heading home the owner telephoned us to say I had unfortunately left my Berghaus jacket in the wardrobe of our room. We were too far on the journey to go back, so without hesitation the owner offered to post it to us and would not take any payment for subsequent shipping costs. This was customer service above and beyond the call of duty!
