Sadly we only booked 1 night at this beautifully restored water mill. Our bedroom was most attractive , contemporary styling, & functionally very well thought out. The bed was comfortable with top class bed linen.
The view out of our window was lovely too - the Loire winding its way through the  rural area.

And then the real bonus was the brilliant village restaurant run by Florence , (the joint- proprietor with Frederique of the b&b). The team of ladies chefs & waitresses were super efficient & the food was delicious & sophisticated.
And finally to say that all of this was really excellent Value for money.
But you will need to pre-book as the establishment is understandably very busy.
Well worth the diversion on our way from Provence to Eurotunnel at Calais.

Absolutely superb B&B

A warm welcome awaited us. Very comfortable and peaceful accommodation beside the Loire, in a former water mill. Our bedroom was spacious with a very comfortable bed.
The fact that there was no television added to the peace and enjoyment. Breakfast was good, and the evening meal was excellent.

We discovered this beautiful property by chance and I can confirm that the glowing reviews are entirely accurate. Having met by Florence, one of the lovely lady proprietors, we were shown to our spacious, comfortable and of course spotlessly kept room with exquisite views over the Loire and surrounding area. The resident family of chickens, ducks (with ducklings) and a selection of cats looking for a head-scratch added to the ambiance as we strolled around the beautiful gardens. My toddler-daughter was particularly made to feel at home with some toys and a space to play in. Dinner was expansive and thoughtfully prepared, with each course explained to us. We had seen Frederique in the herb garden gathering ingredients earlier. Breakfast the next morning was just as spectacular with home-baked fare that we won't see again for some time. Thank you to Florence and Frederique for a magnificent stay - we loved it and will remember this interlude as a special time in our trip to France.

Absolutely magnificent in every way

Everything is perfect here- the hosts, decor, food, every small detail is well thought of! We arrived just in time for dinner and at an affordable price, we had an amazing meal made by the 2 lovely hosts that showcased the different tastes of the region. The cats in the domain were very friendly too! Breakfast the next day was equally as amazing! The freshly made brioche was so good that we finished it! We highly recommend that you pop by this place while traveling around the region! 

Amazing chambre d'hote near puy en velay

I stayed with my family for a night here and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The hosts were lovely, welcoming and friendly and the house was really impressive, with wonderful contemporary facilities mixed with a traditional stone work and French furnishings. We had dinner in the evening and this was exceptional. All courses were very well executed and the cheese board was superb, with interesting and unusual local cheeses to try. Breakfast was equally delicious with brioche that surpassed any I have ever eaten before. Overall this was a fantastic place to stay and one to which we aim to return to. The cats and chickens added to the whole visit. Great value for money too.

An amazing, welcoming and high quality guest house

Stayed recently for two nights at Les Delices de Lavoute and greatly enjoyed the experience. The accommodation is in an old quirky converted mill building on the upper reaches of the Loire which has been adapted with panache and great charm by the owners. The bedrooms were extremely clean and very comfortable - ours had windows opening directly over the river.  Food was excellent and generally home-made or locally sourced, with sumptuous breakfasts featuring a wide range of breads and pastries. Dinner was also of the highest quality - and in our case, readily adapted to meet some specific dietary requests. If you are seeking an alternative to bland hotel chains and want to experience a hugely relaxing and friendly environment in rural France (and are happy to mingle with the cats, chickens and ducks in the grounds), I would highly recommend a stay at Les Delices de Lavoute.
