An amazing dinner - never fails to please all of us. Octopus and spicy sausage went down very well with a 14 year old too! Amazing fish dishes - great fresh seafood. Gorgeous razor clams on the Special Menu followed by plaice  with cod ravioli which was divine. The service was great - friendly as always and attentive without being overly so. Of course - we cannot review without mentioning the Irish coffee - spectacular! Special mention as well for the soufflé chocolate and the caramel brioche! Thank you Team L’Ocean!

Wow!

We went to lunch in the restaurant of this hotel and we had a very nice surprise. Very good and refined sets, fast service by a team of very competent young people. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Very good restaurant in Bois Beach.

We stayed at L'Ocean for 5 nights in August and we couldn't have had a more lovely time. This hotel is a true little gem. With it's beautifully thoughtful interiors and comfortable communal spaces, it's lovely calm swimming pool and fabulous courtyard restaurant we really couldn't have asked for more. It is also in a brilliant location right in the centre of Bois Plage, close enough to cycle/ walk to the beach yet a wonderful oasis of calm. We loved our room with views over the pretty roof tops and most importantly we really loved the staff who are one big gorgeous family. Thank you for having us. We will definitely be back.

Truly wonderful boutique hotel

We spent a wonderful week at this beautiful hotel in August, celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with kids. Loved the setting, the restaurant, exterior patio, pool and lovely outdoor terrace under the shade of the olive trees. Great breakfasts.  Right in the centre of

Bois-Plage, 1 minute walk to the market, 5 mins bike ride to the Gollondieres beach and very easy access to all the bike paths to St. Martin en Ré, Couarde, Loix, etc. We had 3 rooms for the 5 of us. All rooms tastefully decorated with more or less comfy beds. The streetwise room was a little noisy (people walking by and talking loudly), our room giving on the interior courtyard was simpler and a little stuffy. Other room on 1st floor was lovely. Little haven of peace, very charming with lovely peaceful garden and perfect for recharging batteries, base for bike excursions and beach outings. Good restaurant - especially the plat du jour. Staff friendly and very helpful. Would recommend and return. Un grand merci pour un séjour magnifique!

Little haven of peace, with fantastic location

We decided to have lunch at the hotel's restaurant. The meal on the small terrace was excellent, a quality kitchen. We enjoyed the hospitality of the staff, the peaceful setting. This is a place that has nothing to do with the too many and often disappointing shops around the island of Ré or La Rochelle. If we still have the opportunity to spend a few days in this beautiful area, we will certainly try to stay for a while in this hotel. Thank you to the team for this moment.

An unexpected lunch break

It's a very nice time at this hotel. Everyone who works at this place, from the reception to the restaurant or the morning show, is very smiling and friendly, always with kind little words. It's a real pleasure to stay in this very nicely decorated little rethais establishment. It's so good.

A flying visit to the beautiful Ile de Re but we managed to squeeze in 2 visits to our favourite restaurant.  My husband had the Guinea fowl confit both times - he loved it so much! Irish coffee for dessert - of course. Kids enjoyed the burgers and decadent chocolate  soufflé.  For me - the fish is always a winner.

Excellent address Friendly home, very refined decor and sweet to the eye. Very comfortable rooms and beautiful bathrooms. A perfect place for a short stay even without the weather allowing you to enjoy outdoor facilities

A charming address to remember

Excellent fresh seafood, good welcoming as we feel at home, parking facilities, baby corner to play.. The owner Mr Shakti was very friendly, different type of seafood menu.. The staff are very polite and undersanding

L'Ocean Restaurant Bois Rouge Pamplemousses

So welcoming, relaxed and informal this beautifully decorated charm is a genuine delight, we saw it in an article in the Daily Telegraph for Europe's Best 3 star Hotels and it exceeded our high expectations. Wonderful setting, superb comfortable room with soft linen sheets, wonderful relaxed yet attentive service all in the stunning  Le Bois plage en Re. Book- in, park the car in the hotels private parking, rent a bike and explore knowing you're coming back to a great welcome, delicious dining and relaxed comfortable surroundings-just splendid.
