During our trip to Provence we’ve picked up the most magical guest houses to stay in and La Grande Lauzade was an absolute favourite. 
First of all, the story of this old establishment, which used to be a church, but was demolished back in the days and the only thing that was left was the arch of the altar. A beautiful ruin that was the beginning of a new story, this beautiful house that can be your home in Provence for few days. The building is absolutely gorgeous and so is the pool and terrace where you will be serving breakfast next to other guests and the owners. It is a great way to meet new and interesting people that all have the same interest, having a happy life and traveling a lot. We loved this part of our stay at La Grande Lauzade and also the pool area is simply amazing, super relaxing with a gorgeous view to the vineyards and an old pine tree. They also have an indoor pool/jacuzzi. The covered pool is at the basement of the house, next to the old wine cellar and everything looks amazing. It is a very relaxing area with a lot of wood and chill music, perfect for a rainy day.
The rooms and the whole house are very beautifully decorated, mixing a modern and vintage style. The kitchen area was also stunning. I know I keep repeating these adjectives, but it’s true. They also have a gym and a very interesting ‘room’ located inside a school bus. It looked super cool and it has its own porch with a hot tub and comfy chairs, so it was difficult to choose whether we should stay there or in the house, but we chose a room in the attic, because the living room and kitchen area was too beautiful to miss while coming down from the room.
Really recommend this amazing place for short and long stays in Provence!

Amazing stay in Provence

Really enjoyed this place but sadly for only one night. Stopped in the bus with the hot tub outside and ate cheese and drank wine on the veranda. The bus has aircon and a water bed and is very comfortable. 

Beware, this place has no restaurant so you need to bring your own food and drink.

Quaint American Schoolbus

An oasis of calm in Le Luc.  The old house used to be a Church, it has all comfort and really lovely Swiss German owners who keep the place in perfect condition.  We had the Melomanes room on the first floor which was very spacious with great corner views over the wineyards.  We loved the waterbed and slept like babies.  The breakfast outside is organic and delicious.  Make sure you stock up on the lovely cote de Provence rosé wines from the neighborhood.  A very special place. 

Idyllic French residence

The house is thoughtfully furnished with great care and imagination. Bathrooms are well planned and rooms are full of select shabby charm antiques.. Most rooms have views over the vineyards- ours didn't because it was a converted attic with skylights - but we did have the luxury of sleeping on a round waterbed. The air conditioning was unstintingly supplied and very welcome, given the heat.

The owners are engaging, and eloquent: breakfast under the plane trees is French (as advertised so no cheese or ham) with excellent organic patisseries and local jams, good bread selection, home made yoghurt.

The infinity pool is more for dipping than serious swimming - but the view is lovely. The estate dates back to late 18th century and was built on the foundations of church. From a tourist's point of view, however, the local economic development in the interim has not enhanced the area's overall beauty. The village of Le Luc feels a little deprived, the railway is close and clearly audible, ditto the local major road. Depending on your sensitivities it's not bothersome - but maybe check google earth before you book.

If you're willing to do some driving and/or spend days just relaxing and lounging on the very comfortable and stylish deckchairs - this is your place. For access to beaches at (Hyeres 45 - 60 mins) and or local hills (Massif des Maures - or valley of Issole) for walking, bring extra time and energy.

Good - but read the fine print

Thierry and Corinne were just great hosts and we had many a relaxing breakfast listening to stories. The inside pool is lovely and warm and better for swimming than the outdoor which is ideal for chilling. We were in the Melomanes room which was spacious and had a lovely big  bathroom with a huge shower area which looked out over the vineyard.  The toiletries are also fab. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves for 3 of the 6 nights we were there and it was just heaven. Relaxing by the pool until late in the evening or listening and sharing stories  at breakfast ( which were delicious!!)
Was a great base for doing the usual things in the area ie St tropez, Nice, Cannes, Monaco. 
This is a fabulous place to stay if you enjoy some peace and quiet in a lovely setting but equally are willing to meet fellow travellers and share stories. 
Would highly recommend and hoping to return and try out the bus!!

A lovely, lovely place to chill, enjoy great breakfasts and chat in fantastic surroundings (indoor and out)

Our stay at this magnificient former priory with quite a history was truly soothing for our "big-city-nerves". At first I feared it would be too calm for all the beauty of the place and its sorroundings but our gracious hosts made sure it never was. With their gentle care and attention, both to us guests and to detail, we were made to feel at home right from the start. In this I include the family pets that seemed to have engulfed the spirit of the place, friendly but never bothersome. I must also mention the matresses we slept on. Never have I slept in such an excellent bed (no, really!), part spring matress, part waterbed! And each night ended with an excellent breakfast, served either in the beatiful country kitchen or out on the veranda, as the wheather allowed. I must also share how sweet Thiery appealed to an old busdrivers heart when he revved up the the old diesel in that gorgeous bus of theirs.
This is a marvellous place that I and my family can recommend with all our hearts.
