We last visited 5 years ago, and we were pleased to be back. It was even lovelier than I remembered. 

It was extremely hot during our stay, in the 40s, so were very pleased with the pool, and we made good use of it.

Rooms are clean and had in-room safe, fan (no air con). In the bathroom there is soap and an all-encompassing shower gel/shampoo  (no conditioner), along with a hairdryer. No kettle. No problem, we brought our own travel one. We had booked a room at the back of the hotel which had pool and valley views.

We took breakfast every morning on the terrace, which was plentiful and delicious. You pre-order the night before. Coffee/tea, juice, bread, croissants, pain au chocolat, melon, ham, cheese, cake, butter, jam, muesli, and the most delicious homemade yogurt. 13€ a head. All served with a smile by whoever was on duty.

We had dinner one evening too. That was delicious. We chose to sit in the dining room as it was very slightly cooler than sitting outside. I’ve left a separate review for that.

There are many lovely restaurants in the town, a few of which are in the Michelin guide. Beware though, most of them, and the shops, are shut on a Monday. 

Annick and Philippe, the owners, are very present, extremely pleasant and helpful. Also, Delphine on reception was a delight.

There is underground parking at the hotel, 8€ a night, which we used. Not only was it convenient, but it meant our car was cool when we got in it, rather than being out in the sun at 40 degrees plus. 

The hotel is in an excellent location, only a few mins walk from the ‘high street’ of Lectoure, with restaurants and shops. Also a very lovely patisserie, if you walk up to the ‘high street’ turn left and it’s a few minutes along on your left. We bought homemade quiche and sandwiches, cakes and cold drinks, for our lunch.

We had a lovely afternoon out at La Romieu, a village about half an hour drive away, that has the most amazing garden (opens at 2pm), Les Jardins de Coursiana. We had lunch beforehand at a super restaurant called L'Etape d'Angeline (highly recommend) in a lovely village, that is well worth a wonder.

So, all in all, would highly recommend this hotel. Thankyou so much for having us.

Lovely hotel in a great position!

This was a very comfortable overnight stay on our French Camino. The hotel has a most beautiful central staircase - stunning. Our room on the second floor had air conditioning for which we were very grateful as our 24 day walk coincided with a European heat wave. The room was perfectly fine - comfortable bed, serviceable bathroom, one window in the roof which gave beautiful views. It was plain but super clean and exactly what we needed. Dinner on the terrace was absolutely delightful. The food was delicious and service was excellent. It was a real highlight of our day 😊 Breakfast was also very good and everyone we came into contact with working in the hotel/restaurant was friendly and very accomodating. Highly recommend. Lectoure itself is a lovely town.

A delightful overnight stay

We stayed in this hotel during 3 nights in November with a group - the staff was wonderful, the food is of the highest level and the place is really authentic and makes you feel that you travel on time. Any request or question was answered with a lot of professionalism.  I firmly recommend to come and stay here, at least to have an outstanding dinner or a fresh and "home made" breakfast!

Excellent hotel, in a great and authentic place

Firstly the good points....the staff we came across when we arrived at the Reception and in the Dining room during dinner were absolutely charming...but oh what a 'sum of two halves'. A Reviewer in Dec 2017 summed it up so well...it could be so much better. I see 'Le Patron' doesnot take kindly to gentle criticism and indeed many people have been very happy..sadly we were not..we stayed on a Sunday night and asked in advance if the dining room was open. It is normally closed but they said that as a group was staying and eating , they could give us the same meal (no choice)for 29 euros per head.. bot cheap for a menu prix fixed.. but the hotel looked so luxurious we accepted. The meal was 'ok'but not exceptional ...pumpkin soup...rather tepid...then a small piece of bass on a wee round of ratatouille followed by a very good chocolate/pear tourte..the chef came to ask us if it was ok...we nodded but did not say anything else..as itwas ok ish.... The exterior and dining room are gorgeous but as the other Reviewer said..the upstairs is a different story especially for the price..I post photos that say it all...blackgrouting..basic soulless room..we have stayed in better traveller formula hotels for much less. Breakfast is 13 euros...when weight downstairs at about 9am...the big group staying had eaten most ofthe buffet so we did not  partake !! Unlike the delightful staff the night before..the lady on Reception..whe  we complained about the  black grouting and the hairs on the bathroom floor...she not have cared less..very bad tempered..no apology..so we left feeling frankly furious and sad as I had researched it (I thought) so well...and we needed a lovely evening and rest before another very long journey. To add to this...the first room we were offered no 108 had the smallest and lowest bed..we were moved to 110..bigger slightly higher bed..but as basic a room as you can get. I am sure La Patron will post an indignant reply of which I then have no right of reply !..However he can check that I give credit effusively when credit is due..sad..it could be wonderful...as the Reviewer said before..photos to prove my point....

A 'Curate's Egg'...sadly not what we hoped for

A very relaxed setting for a formal dinner with friends. The service was very good and relaxed, however, it was very expensive for a 3 star hotel and the food let it down.
My fish starter was a little dry  and again my fish main course was bland. 

Although I didn’t have a dessert both my friends LOVED theirs.

Prob wouldn’t go back but glad we tried it.

Too expansive for the standard of cuisine.

Lovely setting food nothing special

I stayed 4 nights here and as I was in the area to visit family, stayed on a bed and breakfast basis.  I booked fairly last minute and so booked a double room through a third party booking site.  The room was ‘city facing’ and I enjoyed the sounds of life outside. It wasn’t intrusive, just normal, day to day sounds of life and I always slept with the window open.  The hotel is very clean and I found all the members of staff to be friendly and professional.  I enjoyed my breakfast, particularly the fresh fruit salad and the mini croissants and pain au chocolat. I was always served a full pot of coffee which I appreciated. As I spent little time in the hotel and didn’t get a chance to swim in the pool or dine in the evenings, I was tempted to give 4 stars but based on the excellent customer service I experienced, I do feel this hotel, in deserves 5 stars. When I arrived, I received a nice welcome and after a long journey, appreciated my suitcase being taken up the stairs. On the final evening, on settling my bill, I was very confused with the Bill presented to me - I had used a booking site not the hotel to book- however the way the lady handled my confusion was wonderful and I was not made to feel uncomfortable. It transpired that I had paid the booking site less than I thought but she was so professional and professional, I do feel in terms of customer service, a 5 star rating is deserved.

Clean hotel and great staff

We stopped here for lunch on our way to the Marciac jazz festival and were not disappointed. The terrace where we had lunch is quiet and secluded, the foie gras was delish and the armagnac and pruneaux souffle and icecream to die for!

Hot spot in the Gers

Lovely old hotel in the middle of Lectoure, staff were great and hotel clean. Most afternoons we had the pool to ourselves, this was great with temperature above 30c. It also has a very good restaurant. We had a good time and would definately go again.

Great staff.
Fabulous pool.
Our room was very comfortable and quiet.
Great wifi.
Excellent set menu and breakfast included.
You could take a rest day here and just chill by the pool.

Highly recommend.

Excellent stop over on the GR65 

I've been here several times and it's always a good experience. The food is beautiful and tasty. The staff are mostly long-serving and are welcoming. Service is quite formal - more so than I would choose. But the clientele ranges from the well-to-do to scruffy walkers (me) and it's a wide range to satisfy. If you want cheap local fare with the locals try elsewhere. But if you like your bread served with tongs go here.
