Fabulous place to stay while doing the Tour du Mont Blanc or skiing. Family run with son Noah acting as the perfect host. The meal made by his father was one of our best for our entire TMB. Noah gave us a ride to our starting point and was just a joy to be with. Hope to return soon!

A Fantastic Family run Hotel

Had the most wonderful time in Les Contamines staying in La Gelinotte. It is a family run business and Beatrice and her son welcomed us the moment we arrived by picking us up from the bus stop in the main area of the village. She is so warm, so helpful and so so kind and patient. She brought us into the village to rent our ski equipment then drove us to the ski lifts to buy our passes.

The room was very cosy, had an amazing view of the main village and I absolutely loved the place. We had breakfast and dinners here and I thought the food was way better than what we managed to find in the village. 

It was value for money, close to the free shuttle service bus stop to the ski lifts and it was also possible to walk from La Gelinotte to the lifts (20 minutes). 

Highly recommend this place. I am certainly looking forward to being back!

Perfect place to stay in Les Contamines

The Hotel facilities, food and staff was fantastic. It’s a family run  business and we made to feel very welcome from all who worked their.

Beatrice in particular was so helpful, she provided any information we needed and a taxiing service (that was not included and she didn’t have to do). She deserves recognition and the flowers we gladly bought her as a small thanks.

Superb Holiday!

Family run, no hiking boots or poles in rooms, tasty meals. Had an actual 2 bedroom apartment for me & roommate with long balcony.
No WiFi in room but the one in lobbies was the most reliable & fastest on my whole TMB.
Take the time (and effort) to walk down to the river and up into the Les Contamines proper - it's worth it.

Valley, forest, river, charming village and the Hotel is great, too.

Had a wonderful stop here while doing the trail. spacious room, hot water, fab view from the porch, and a tasty vegetrian dinner and plentiful breakfast. 
The owner/manager and her brother where THE perfect hosts. A grand smile and a big heart for all of their guests. This is exactly the kind of place one would like to crash into after a long day's walk !!!

a memorable stop on the TMB

I arrived unexpectedly at La Gelinotte and a room had to be made up for me at the last minute of my first day on the TMB.  Beatrice could not have been kinder or more pleasant.  My room was perfectly comfortable, clean and quiet.  Dinner was memorable, especially the myrtilles dessert and it was very nice that the chef came out to say hello.  Thanks to all, and to Philippe for driving me to the start of the trail and giving me the tip to visit the church first.  All in all a very pleasant, friendly and joyful stay and a great start to a successful circumnavigation of Mont Blanc.
