We stayed in this o.k., hard to find apartment for an acceptable price in February 2014 for a week of ski touring.  However, the payment and the lady owner left us with a bad experience.  The lady owner asked for a deposit of 1500 euros in addition to full payment up front and only accepted cash - that's more deposit than we had to pay for the house we live in Germany.  We made several trips over two days to the bank machine to withdraw all that cash.  When we paid the balance, the lady owner insulted us and told us she expected more from Germans (even though we're not German).  She insulted us when we left, kicked us out without warning early on the day we were supposed to leave, and charged us a 100 euro cleaning fee.  Her husband was really nice and made up for her bad manners but we would definitely not stay there again.

Cheap place complicated payment not so nice owner

Going on the TMB we decided to book the first night at a BB from home.
We just wanted something cheap for the night.
Got a nice room outside the main building.
Furniture and bathroom was very simple, but we had what we needed.

In the morning we had a wonderful breakfast with homemade jam, good bread and....
For 60 EUR we could not complain at all.

Fantastic breakfast......

We have chosen this B&B without looking at trip advisor and believe it or not we it was the best scenery from the window we had so far (and we travel a lot). In the afternoon we even had a meal at the table outside the house so we could admire the view. Hosts - maybe their english is not the best - but they put a lot of hart into their job. Room was excellent and breakfast delicious. We could not ask for more. Overall - I wish I was lucky to find more B&B like this one.

Unbelievable

I booked this chalet for a ski holiday for 9 people and I was not disappointed. The chalet is quaint, traditionally Alpine French (e.g. your breakfast tea / coffee is served in bowls rather than cups) and the owners are very kind and friendly and can't do enough for you.  The ski bus stop into Les Houches is a very short walk from the chalet and it takes around 10 mins to reach the main gondola in the resort.  Monsieur and Madame Frasserand may not speak much English, but we were in their country and if you make the effort to communicate with them in French (even if just basic), they appreciate it.  Lovely breakfast selection of fresh French breads and home-made jams, yogurts, charcuterie, cheese, locally sourced fruit juices, jugs of warm milk for hot chocolate, etc.  Bed was amazingly comfortable and the rooms were lovely and warm.  

Only issue was with the resort ski bus timings and restaurant opening times.  Lots of the restaurants in Les Houches did not open until 6.30pm and the evening ski bus left at 7.17pm - last one after 10pm (with none in-between).  Not great if you wanted to have a couple of drinks after an early evening meal as it's a 30 - 40 min walk back to the chalet, so some planning is needed, especially if in a big group.  There is, however, a good steak / burger house within short walking distance of the chalet in case you're tired after a day on the slopes.

Very pretty, traditional French chalet - and good value for money

We stayed there for 2 nights. It's located a suburb of Chamonix-Mt.Blanc and it takes about 10 min. by train or bus from centre. It's not convenient to stay there if you don't have a car, but it's much cheaper than centre.
Mr.&Mrs.Frasserand doesn't speak English well and unfortunately we don't speak French, so it was a little difficult to comunicate, but he showed us his beautiful photographs and asked other guests to give a ride to Aiguille de Midi for us. It was very nice.
Breakfast  was simple and lovely. We had many kinds of bread and homemade confiture, cheese, yogurt, juice and cafe au lait. 
We stayed in a charming double room with a tiny shower room, but we could use enough hot water, so it was comfortable.
Recommended.
