Recommended you do not stay unless you are happy with questionably stained upholstery, the smell of sewage (even after deep cleaning the apartment yourself) and not being able to sleep due to the absence of soundproofing. The only positive is the location.

Stained furniture, no staff, sewage smell

I booked an apartment in this residence via the AirBnB platform, for one week in July 2018.
The apartment provided six comfortable beds, in two double rooms and in a aisle with two bunk beds. You can arrange up to eight beds if you also open a sofa bed which is available in the living room-kitchen. But we were just three adults plus a baby. The choice of an oversized apartment for us happened because other planned travel mates gave up at the last moment.
So the apartment was very livable for us. It cost us around 100 euros a night; even so, we enjoyed a good value for money; obviously the value would have been even better with more people.
From our balcony (we were on the third floor) we enjoyed a fascinating view of the Chamonix valley and of the Mont Blanc massif. Every evening I spent at least half an hour admiring the gorgeous landscape. A small round-about just below our balcony didn't bother us so much, given the very low traffic.
The apartment, very clean, was yet equipped with bed sheets, while to have also bath towels (requested in advance) we paid a small fee.
The kitchen was equipped with induction cookers, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, everything properly working. The bathroom had double sinks. Only problem for us coming from Italy, the lack of a bidet (but it's well known that these items are uncommon in France).
The kitchenware and overall the facilities were sufficient. Unique flaws: the lack of a corkscrew (I bought one on site and left it for the next guests) and a pallet to use with the broom.
The two simple but functional bedrooms were upstairs, under the attic (pay attention to the head if you walk towards the sloping roof!), lit by skylights. Although Les Houches is 1000 mts high, in July it could be hot under the roofs; but it was enough to open the skylights for an hour and so, to refresh the rooms.
Overall, thanks to the wonderful Chamonix valley (and to the almost always nice weather), but also thanks to this accommodation, we spent an unforgettable week.

We came to place and there should be someone in reception but we had to wait 20 min.
We got room from first floor.
Room is simple and bed covers and towels were missing. There wasn't mentioned on booking.com
We went to sleep 10.00 pm because long travel but it was impossible to sleep because party in other room. Someone was banging wall or floor so even earplugs didn't help.
I try cancel rest of my stay and go other hotel.

Don't go if you don't want parties

the room had everything for comfortable stay in terms of dishes, cutleries, pans, dishwasher, Kitchener, microwave but no sponges, tea towels, dish washer liquid, etc, therefore bring everything with you unless you are happy to by everything.
the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable, so if you drive, bring your own pillow.
facilities are fine, we had corner balcony in our studio which was fine for 3 people. more than that i think may be too tight. 
hosts are very friendly and happy to help and negotiate.
access to bus stop was easy - 2 mins, supermarket - 5- 7 mins away. 
there is timetable for the bus, which runs every 30 mins, but has access to two different resorts, so you don't need to interchange. i would recommend take bus ticket at reception so you can use the bus for free outside skiing hours. night bus is EUR2. 
the village itself is very quiet, you won't see many people around, but there are some bars and restaurants around.
there is private parking, so should be good to come by car.

Good value

We had an apartment for 5. We were fortunate to be on the side which faced the mountains. It snowed whilst there and the mountains looked fab. 
The apartments are basic but clean. I would recommend no more than 4 in the 5 person apartment. We looked inside a two bedroom apartment and it didn't look as nice. Lounge area much smaller. 
The linen and towels are of a good quality. But then they should be when you have to pay extra for them. You also have to pay for cleaning at the end. 

The sauna and steam area is clean and well worth booking. We had no problem getting a slot. We were impressed with the facilities . 4 star hotels have steam and saunas which are not as well maintained as here. 

The reception staff are friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. 

Would definitely recommend here. Looking forward to returning soon!!

Great apartment. 

We are a little biased as we have now stayed at these apartments around six or seven times. This time we had 3 apartments as there were 14 of us.. could have fit into two but wanted the extra space. We had our usual apartments, one on the bottom floor and two on the top floor. 
The views are amazing from the top apartments.
The apartments are spacious and have everything that you may need for a good holiday. My only reservation is the lack of toilet facilities.. the apartments need more really. But if you can get over that, the apartments are ideal for a great ski holiday.
One of the biggest advantages of this residence is that it is only a couple of hundred metres from the motorway which means even in the snowiest conditions there is easy access.
You will be a couple of hundred metres from a small ski slope, a medium sized supermarket which sells just about everything including fuel, doctors, quiet little bars.
an Indian restaurant which we have found to be good.
Ski rentals, and a brilliant Pizza restaurant virtually next door which you must try.
Chamonix is literally less than 10 mins away by car or the free buses which you can get a card for from the apartment reception.
The main gondolas for the Les Houches ski area are probably 10 mins by car or bus, where you will find more bars, patisseries, ski rentals, restaurants.
Don't miss Free Ski Thursday Night.. where anything goes for a couple of hours.. sledging, skiing, rubber rings, scooters.. anything that you can get down a slope on safely.
Sauna is in the basement, but make sure that you book a time slot.
In summary, we have always found these apartments to be perfect for us winter, spring or autumn (haven't been in the summer.. yet!)
