I just stayed as a day guest in this cozy and charming little hotel, that is probably unique in sitting on two sides of an international border. I really liked the cozy charming interior, and the friendly service. The hotel dog is also wonderful. 

Unique little hotel, worth an overnight stay

We only stayed for the fun of sleeping in a room on the border, so our feet were in France and our heads in Switzerland. Despite this, it is actually a nice hotel. Traditional with wood panelling, photos on the wall, newspaper stories about the border hotel and so on. The hotel is a little worn around the edged, but it's also somewhat updated, with TVs and hairdryers in the rooms, wifi, etc.

Our room was a bit small, but fine for what we needed. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was really good. Plenty of space to store our bags. Our view was over the border between the two countries.

Staff are very friendly and speak French and English.

Our dinner was quite nice, a traditional Swiss melted cheese dish and breakfast was buffet style, but enough for us. Be aware, there's only one other restaurant up the hill and it may not be open. So choosing a half board option is a good idea. There's only one other souvenir/convenience store in the village.

There's some border markers on the hotel and the street outside to take photos of as well.

Payment is in Euro and if you need to connect to a phone network, Orange F is available.

Come for the fun, enjoy the hotel

Of course the location of the hotel makes it special: one side is French, one side is Swiss. But it is in between 2 busy roads, so not much of a nice evening stroll to be made. The restaurant serves good food. The staff overslept so breakfast was half hour late. I think staying in Lea Rousses is a better option.

Just average

This is a small hotel located in La Cure France within 20 meters of the Swiss border. The hotel is clean, safe and quaint. You'll feel like you're in Europe if you stay here. Rooms are a bit small, but clean with comfortable beds. There are three floors. TIP: There may be an elevator, but if there is I didn't see it, so if you need elevator access, double check before booking this hotel.

There is a restaurant and bar onsite that has excellent food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served and all were great. There is free wi-fi that worked well on the third floor.

The resort is right down the road from Stade Nordique des Tuffes, a cross country skiing site for FIS races and other ski areas are in the area.

Quaint Hotel on the French/Swiss Border

Right on the FR/CH border, very convenient location but there's nothing else within maybe 5km ( Les Rousses) .
We just stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast and it was excellent. Food is typical mountain food, lots of cheese, couple of burgers or steak..

The decor is rustic but it's done quite well, it's old but clean, some things are broken but they are old, it's ok. 

Just one girl doing hotel reception, bar and serving food but service was great, super friendly and even switched to English to cover our rubbish French..

Go here expecting a quiet mountain hotel with smallish menu, old style decor and friendly service.. You will like it.. Go expecting 5 star luxury and you won't like it.

Price wise : Bottle of wine, 25eur , Burger and fries, 12eur.  Free parking - on the FR side.
 
I would go back again, either for dinner and stay over night or for a few days ski-ing.

Room 20 would be ideal for a family, bunks in one room and nice double in next room. Suite type.

Great little place for a night or two

We first visited the hotel 15 years ago when we came for the celebration of the cows coming down for winter in Saint Cergue. Then, we found the hotel charming, the food hearty and the experience truly unique. The hotel straddles the frontier, one part of the hotel is in France, the other part in Switzerland. There are stories of how the Nazis would be dining downstairs while the hotel owners would be hiding Jews in upstairs Switzerland. If you are looking for a Mariott type experience, this is not it. The hotel is old but clean and the staff are warm and generous. The food is hearty and if the weather is good, you can enjoy a beer or coffee on one of the two terraces, France or Switzerland take your pick. The location is great, just 5 minutes from Les Rousses and the lake. Can't wait to come back.

A unique experience

So we turned up just after 2pm to check in (email advises up to 6pm), the place was deserted we walked around the place for 20 mins, went outside to check we had the right entrance, walked back in and heard a vacuum upstairs so followed the noise. Tried to tell the cleaner we wanted to check in, she tried calling someone then rang the hotel phone.. No answer. She said we could wait, we were visiting friends nearby so said we would return in an hour. Returned at 3.30, place deserted still, hung around for an hour, we just wanted to sort the room so we could return to our friends. We could see on the screen we had been allocated a room, key hung up, we took the key but couldn't find the room (it were in the building next door).... So left again and left a note asking someone to call us when we could check in! 5.45 still no call so we went back, a woman was there, she said she were about to call us, we weren't happy at all, if we hadn't of already paid we would have gone elsewhere!! Eventually got the key, taken to the room, basically we had a bed for the night! The room was dingy, old, curtain tied back with string, no kettle or bottled water in the room, bathroom old and mouldy, shower head broken, sink plug missing. 
There were cars passing by through out the night! Went for breakfast, no one there so put the kettle on, not much choice of food, tables set up for dinner so we had orange juice in wine glasses. A woman the turned up, didn't talk at all to us. By this time we just wanted to get out of the place! Went to check out, no one there again so left the key on the desk with other keys. What an absolute shambles of a hotel, felt a bit like a sketch out of Faulty Towers! 
I certainly don't expect a reply to this but feel I should warn people to avoid this place unless your desperate!!!!
