This was a very wonderful hotel for our large tour group (over 30 people). We had to split the group between Hotel Doussiere, the hotel they also own just across the street, and the "annex" across the river. I stayed in the main hotel, which does not have an elevator (one of the other buildings DOES have an elevator so the less mobile folks stayed there). The room we very up to date, clean and fresh. We had a view of the river. The hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was a fresh croissant and lots of fruit, and "cottage cheese". Since we were in a large group dinner was a pre-set meal instead of ordering off a menu. I enjoyed all of the meals. They made special accommodations for people who were vegetarian, etc.

It is a wonderful hotel, we were very fortunate to have this as our base of operation for Cevennes. I would stay there again.

Wonderful stay for our large group

We had a four-day stay in the main building of the hotel this summer, and had a room overlooking the river. which was so beautiful.  The hotel is very clean and the staff are  friendly and efficient.
 The evening meals  with the set menus are superb value, with a creativity and focus on regional food that is really inventive,  and we cannot recommend it highly enough.  the fact that so many customers are served outstanding food from a tiny kitchen by the chef, Guillaume Follenfant, is extraordinary.  
  We hope to be back soon.......

Wonderful location and excellent cuisine

I actually stayed across the street in ``Le Grand Hotel des Voyageurs,'' which is under the same ownership. There's nothing more I could have asked for. The price was very reasonable. The room was spotless, comfortable, and silent. The restaurant had one of the best value meals I've ever eaten in France. The staff was super friendly. The wifi worked well.
  This is not a luxury hotel so don't expect too much, but it's exactly the sort of place I love to find when road-tripping across France. 
   ``Doussiere'' is slightly more upmarket (and overlook the river and the very pretty adjacent village) than ``Grand Voyageurs'' and its restaurant is a bit more gastronomic. But the price is still very reasonable. 
  Le Rozier is a perfectly located village at the junction of two stunning river gorges. You won't need a car here. There are endless hiking and canoeing options right from the village.

all you could ever ask for in a small French hotel

A nice hotel in the centre of the village. The owner (presumably) was friendly and helpful, although she seemed a bit over stretched and lacking in support ( when we arrived there was quite a lot of standing around with no one taking much interest in us until she appeared). 
As is often the case with small, French hotels, a few easy tweaks would have made our experience even better. The first room we were offered overlooked the river, but the elderly electric heater didn’t work and it was freezing, so we had to change. The room we ended up with was warm and pretty, but there was no rubbish bin, the soap dispenser didn’t work, nor did the WiFi and it took us a while to locate the light switch hidden behind the bed head. The excellent restaurant, however, compensated for these failings. It was too cold to eat outside when we were there but, in the summer, breakfast on the balcony overlooking the river would be idyllic.

Nice, traditional hotel. Excellent restaurant

The hotel has several buildings and 2 restaurant in this small nice village. Our room was in the Annex building across the river and overlooking it and the in building with the restaurant. The trickle of the water sound, the trees around and the drowsy village makes into a charming place.
the room itself has enough space and the old wardrobe not only provides ample space for cloths, it adds to the room's atmosphere.
Two small points overcloud this room, otherwise would have been the best we had in this trip.
* One was the very very (and even more) small/tiny lavatory room. Not sure that this alcove deserved to even be called a room. I don't know who designed it, but anyone above 1.6 meters of height will have difficulties to seat with the door closed :-(
Not to mentioned the door stop which invites the inevitable encounter with your pinky...

* The second issue was the lack of wifi signal in the room itself. It is available only in public areas. fortunately we had a very nice Billiard room in the ground floor which also served as our "connect to the world" base.

The staff is very nice, helpful and try to make you feel at home and comfortable.

All in all a very nice experience.

A good base for the Tarn

This hotel was prebooked for us through a company who arranged our accommodations while hiking the Tarn Gorges and what a lovely choice for an overnight stay. It is spotlessly clean, attractively decorated with solid wooden furniture and a lovely bed to sink into at the end of the day. Our room overlooked the river and we could either leave the window open to listen to the river or close the window and shutters for total peace and quiet. We ate our excellent dinner on the sunny terrace and could not have been happier at the end of a perfect day. Highly recommended!

Excellent hospitality at the end of a day of hiking

This is a lovely small hotel, with an excellent restaurant. Our itinerary only allowed us to stay one night, but we would have loved to linger...Everything about the Doussiere -- the rooms, the view, the service -- is wonderful.
