We rented this property on the understanding that it was fully air conditioned. In the event, only one bedroom had air conditioning. This was a rather noisy free-standing unit, with a tumble-drier-style hose that poked out of the open window. The remaining five bedrooms & living areas didn't have air-con, or even a fan, which was a real problem during a sweltering August in the South of France. The swimming pool was also very green & unusable for the first day. This was rectified after a couple of pool guys paid us a visit & added some chemicals, but the water began to go very green again towards the end of our stay. Extremely disappointing, given the daytime temperatures. Some of the poolside furniture was broken, or had seen better days, which wasn't to our liking. Lastly, please be prepared for a long wait to get your security deposit returned. In our experience, the owner was very reluctant to return the money, taking six weeks to do so. This was after several texts & emails and a final intervention from the 'France-sweet-villas' agent. That's the bad stuff. On a positive note & there were many, many positives, the location of this villa is stunning, with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. The decor is clean & modern & can't be otherwise faulted. A lovely, spacious place for a large family holiday. We have fond memories of sitting out on the terrace, late at night, eating & drinking with family & friends. The location is very private & quiet, though a little isolated, so you'll need a car.  Aspiran is tiny, but quaint & within easy striking distance of nearby Pezenas, which is a fabulous place to visit, by day or night. A pretty town, with beautiful architecture & plenty of delightful little shops & restaurants. A very pleasant holiday, despite the negatives.

Lovely accommodation, with beautiful views, but no air con & a green pool.

A tiny town hiding the most fantastic accommodation! Beautiful, luxurious room with views of amazing countryside. The hosts are so relaxed and welcoming despite our limited French. Faultless breakfast on the terrace every morning and lazy afternoons by the beautiful pool. The wine produced at the vineyard is a must try, particularly the chilled red which is just so refreshing and drinkable- we bought what was left to bring home! The ability to use the kitchen to store and prepare food is a real plus. We can't wait to return! 

Fantastic!!

We had one of the superior rooms, which were absolutely fabulous.  Large, nicely appointed, relatively new room, with very good shower, and huge windows with electric metal shutters on the outside that gave one complete blackout.  The windows had reflective coating, so that one could not see in during the day.  The room overlooked the very nice pool, surrounded by loungers and benches, on which they put cushions during the day.  There is a separate 'kitchen' with large refrigerator one can use, and full equipment of crockery and cutlery.  Breakfast is served inside the kitchen, or at tables outside under umbrellas when it is sunny.  Breakfast is excellent, including cheeses, ham, croissants and pain chocolat, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, butter, huge selection of local jams and preserves, etc, with orange juice, coffee, or hot chocolate, served by either madam or her husband, who runs the vineyard.  The property belongs to his father, and they have been there since it was renovated in 2013.  The building with the rooms  is separate from the 'gites' which are in a larger separate building, a modernized old structure which dates back centuries (the rooms and the kitchen are brand new).  The office (where there is wifi) is down a small hillside from the pool, which is surrounded by the kitchen, rooms, and gites, and old pine trees. attached to the wine cellars of the vineyard.  Not a low cost place, but absolutely beautiful with fabulous views, in a nice part of Langue d'Oc with many picturesque villages, including the one down the hill, where there is both a restaurant and, of all things, a sushi take-out.  It is a little hard to find, but is signposted from some local roads including one of the crossroads in the village.

This exquisite boutique hotel nestled in the countryside at the back of Aspiran in the south of France has to be experienced to be believed. Swim in the pool as your eyes feast on vineyards, gardens and trees, sleep in your luxurious bed, dress in your private dressing room or shower in your designer bathroom. This place is pure luxury at a very economic price. A true find.  Shhh don't tell too any people about this one or there won't be room for you when you want to come back.
