This was the first time my family and I have been on this sort of holiday and we were nervous to say the least especially after reading previous reviews about this site. We couldn't have been more suprised at how much we enjoyed ourselves. The site was very clean and the staff very helpful (they even fixed my sons bike when his stabiliser wheel came off!). 
We booked through Matthews holidays and their reps, Steve and Edmaud, were always available with a friendly face and any advice that we required. They are a credit to the company. 
We had booked one of the the smallest range of their caravans and it was basic but it was spotlessly clean and ample for what we needed. The site has recently been taken over and the changes they have made obviously to us have been done for the better. 
The resort is in a quiet area very much untouched by the tourism trade. The roads are clean and well maintained. Our children really enjoyed being able to cycle to the beach on safe, clearly designated foot/cycle paths.
 It has been a very relaxed family holiday for us and each one of us has really enjoyed. I would definitely recommend this site and can't wait to now book next years holiday.

Fantastic Holiday - will definitely be coming back again!!

We have visited this site for the last 10 years, over the winter the site was bought by mega holiday company Odalys.  It was great to see a number of improvements and general tidying up of the site.  This meant the loss of some camping pitches and a mass replacement of the site's own caravans.

 

We booked through Matthews who were incredibly helpful throughout the process and brilliant when we ran into car trouble, organising alternative crossings and contacting the site as soon as we called.  When we arrived at the site we were greeted by the local rep who was incredibly friendly, knew all about our travails and offered us as much help as possible.  Edmonde and Steve continued to be helpful and friendly all holiday, being incredibly flexible with us.  Our van, though dated, was very clean and well maintained and the host's occasional visits meant that any issue never became a problem.

 

I recommend this site - the local beach is brilliant, great for body boarding and only and 10 minute walk on well maintained paths through the surrounding pine forest.  The site boasts 2 pools what were clean, warm and, for a period each day, manned by a friendly guard.  One thing to note is that board shorts are not permitted [never have been] so a pair of speedo type shorts are needed, you can get them down the road in Super U.

Plenty to do in the surrounding area too...

Les Dunes is a very family friendly campsite situated in an excellent spot for the beach,shops,, forest walking, and siteseeing. the staff are friendly and helpful.
most of the chalets are fairly new and are up to a very good standard. Unfortunately some of the older chalets are needing some t.l.c. or replacing. Inside some of the chalets the pans,cutlery,,galsses and crockery could do with replacing.
  However each year we have visited the owners have refurbished and replaced  the pools the childrens playground  and other amenities. 
The 2 pools could do with handles on the steps going into them for the older visitors and for the smaller children.

16 years staying at Les Dunes

We were staying nearby and wanted a takeaway pizza for our final night. We ordered and were told it would be an hour wait. We came back after an hour and ended up waiting another 40minutes whilst we watched them make our food - no idea what they’d been doing in the previous hour! Prices were reasonable, the food was nice but the staff were not that helpful. Have to say, the site itself for staying looks lovely. Lots of amenities and entertainment

So sad to witness the demise of a campsite in a beautiful spot with an amazing beach. We returned here for 2 nights - en route from Biarritz - after having stayed 4 or 5 times in the past.
Bathroom facilities truly abysmal.
Loos were filthy. No loo paper or soap. Intermittent hot water in showers. Shower blocks looked like they hadn't been updated since the 70s. One rusty mirror. Not enough loos or showers so queues for both. Really we're disgusting.
The little shop has been replaced by a shelf in the bar, sticking a couple of basics. Ordered a coffee but they didn't have any milk.
Campsite has been taken over by a big corporate and seems to have made no investment or have little interest in the needs of its residents.
Checking in system lengthy and inefficient and staff seem demoralised.
Such a beautiful spot but we won't be returning to camp here. Very disappointing.

Truly appalling facilities. Avoid camping here

Nothing kept up, outside area unkempt and cheap dirty furniture, caravan grotty and dated - fridge door wouldn't close, seating filthy so we had to cover it before sitting on it, beds and duvets old and lumpy could hardly bare to sleep on and under them. Not even loo roll on arrival so we could have a wee after a long journey. Camp site v good with great pool and beach nearby, but that was all. We will never stay with Matthews holidays again. Expensive and discusting
