A warm welcome, the owner took the time to explain to us the must-have of Lourdes, around a glass, so we were able to enjoy the maximum of visits in a short time. The setting is very pleasant. The nights are peaceful. We will keep good memories of this stay. We must go there with a spirit of pilgrimage and not of sensationalist tourist.

Ideal location

The location is central and very quiet at the same time. The manager is kind and gives good indications about the restaurants. However, although the price of the stay is affordable, there are a few meters away other boarding houses, better placed and with additional services, at a lower price. Of course for the price you pay you can not and you should not demand a refined or elegant environment. You can also appreciate the antique structure (which has its charm anyway); you can tolerate that it is almost fatiguous (with used carpet, unstable walls, obsolete electrical system...); what is not acceptable is the poor cleaning of the bathroom (hair, profiling residues on table and water: but it could be a very uncomfortable and uncommon condition) and disordered by the storage of old materials (which is mainly possible in the cyanide, but it is not possible to do so).

You can stay there, but it's better, in the same price zone.

Arrrgh! I almost killed my GPS. It's very difficult to find the right street using his simple GPS, which almost gave me my soul. But well, I ended up looking for myself and finding the house in his little street wondering where I was going to park, but luckily a few meters away there is a parking lot at your disposal and then you are very reassured. When we arrived at the house, we were very warmly welcomed by Jean with a glass and many tips and information about the area. He is very available and will even help us bring our luggage to the car when we leave our silence, which is rare and precious. The rooms are simple but comfortable, not soundproofed, we have no problems with the neighbors who have respected our location but we have been very well connected by 22h30.

Very welcome.

This is an old hotel in the rue de bourg which no longer serves any meals but the owner lets you have use of a kitchen (microwave, fridge etc) and dining room.  There are 2 pleasant patios for an al fresco breakfast or an evening drink. It is about 7 minutes gentle walk to the domaine. The rooms are ok, good beds and plenty of hot water.  The family room which sleeps 5 or 6 would be excellent value for a family. The owner is extremely friendly and accommodating, in fact I left some of my clothes there as we are going back in a fortnight and again in October.  Next door is a small café/grocery store, across the road is a launderette and an internet café (although free wifi is in the hotel) and again across the road is a quality gift shop where the prices are half what you would pay near the grotto. Inexpensive so do not expect 5 stars but really good value. We are going back twice this year.

very good value for money

The structure is certainly close to the sanctuary, about 10 minutes' walk. Unfortunately the rooms, like the rest, are poorly maintained with a lack of real cleanliness. The rooms are small and also the bathroom. The common area on the ground floor appears in the same condition as the rooms, if not worse. The microwave oven is dirty as the kitchen. The owner Jean is a nice and available person, but unfortunately does not take much care of the stable in order to make it more cozy.

Not suitable solution

Jean's courtesy and kindness are unique: she is available and ready to meet any request. It is one of the few places where there are rooms with more beds available. Children are welcomed with kindness and sympathy. There is WiFi available. The price ratio is excellent. It is very close to the sanctuary.
