after a long time of domestic holidays, my husband and I decided to take a vacation to France. Among other cities and locations we booked la Maison Castaings in Lucq de Bearn! Best choice of the whole trip! 
A renovated farm house which gives you the impression of a "home from home" especially because of two of the nicest people we've  ever met, Evelyne and Jean-Paul!
Everything was so over and above our expectations that we both did not feel like leaving, so we extended our stay to one week!! 
Incredible views over the Pyrinees from the pool and the house. Excellent food, cooked by Evelyne and appetizing aperitifs from Jean-Paul.  
Delicious cheeses and jams for breakfast and tasteful french-cuisine for dinner!!  All was delicious and very well presented.
Accommodation was impeccable! A so romantic room, giving you the taste of the french country side with all necessary amenities.
It was such a stunning experience that words are not enough to describe; you should experience it yourself!!!

"A paradise on earth"

As an American, I had a certain idea, or picture in my head of what a quaint bed and breakfast in the French countryside should be. As soon as I saw Maison Castaings on Trip advisor, I knew I had found that place. In real life, it is not exactly like the pictures. It's better! I could not have asked for a more beautiful, charming, comfortable or welcoming experience. 

My husband, daughter and I were only able to spend one night here, but I would love to come back. The hosts, Evelyn and John Paul were lovely. Evelyn speaks better English than I do French, so we were able to figure things out as we went along. 

We stayed in the triple room with a private bath. Comfortable, quite, everything we needed. 

Breakfast. Wow. It was amazing. Croissant, homemade jams, hams, cheeses, breads, yogurt, a homemade tart. Coffee, hot chocolate, and juice. Oh my. 

And the surroundings. The house and countryside are stunningly beautiful. Pictures really don't do it justice. You must go and experience for yourself.

What can I say that hasn't already been said. Our hosts were two of the nicest people you could wish to meet. They immediately made us feel welcome, and the house was so warm and inviting. Within minutes of arriving there I felt as though I was at home with old friends.

Home from home

We were greeted by the vista of this beautiful old house and charming Jean Paul who led us inside to a huge smile from Evelyne who showed us upstairs and through their enchanting home. Our bedroom was stylish, elegant and cool from the heat of the day but the glimpses of the many different courtyards and terraces beckoned so we didn't linger there long as we just had to explore the extraordinary cluster of barns and terraces scattered in the sensitively-cared for surroundings. Aperitifs in one of the several intimate outdoor rooms introduced us to other friends and visitors and we already felt completely at ease and welcomed. Dinner was excellent and our hosts delivered it all with seemingly effortless charm. Lively conversation in three languages further enriched our experience. We slept well in the comfortable bed and enjoyed a delicious breakfast before, regrettably, having to leave.  Exceptional hospitality and attention to detail, in romantic surroundings.

We thought it would be good but WOW - well beyond our expectations!

1st class, what a wonderful place to stay. perfect hoasts, wonderful food, lovely bedrooms and omg the house is to die for, simply a perfect stay. we did not want to leave, but will return soon and cannot recommend this place highly enough.
