Outstanding. Centrally located to visit the chateaux of Loire. Close to Amboise. Owners are amazing. Rooms are large and spacious, beautifully furnished. Breakfast was delicious and substancial.  Be sure to try their wine which was some of the best we tasted in France.

What a great experience the Pintray is!  From a wonderful host (Ann!) to the wine tasting by Jean Christophe, we could not have been welcomed warmer.  The rooms are HUGE, the Chateau is very charming, and wait until you see the breakfast table.  I want to go back just to stay here for a week.  Thank you so much for having us.

The absolute best!

Our family (7 of us) went to Chateau de Pintray. We couldn't have had a better experience. The property is lovely and the vineyards are beautiful. We were charmed by our hostess Anne. Loved, loved, loved it!!!!  There was a large family room that we took over at night, brought in charcuterie and enjoyed the Chateau's excellent wine. We enjoyed meeting a Swedish couple (Axel and Clara) who were also staying on their honeymoon and celebrated with them for 2 nights. Beds were comfortable. As in all places outside American hotels, there is no air conditioning but it cools off at night. Breakfast was fresh croissants, fruit, ham, cheese, yogurt, tea and coffee. Could not make a better recommendation for this Chateau. No elevator so book your room on the appropriate floor. 

What a lovely place!

Traditional French chateau stay, hosted by the family who run the vineyard and you can do a tasting. The chateau has been passed down through generations and you can read and talk to them about the history.
There is a lovely shares lounge and terrace you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine with other guests or friends you are travelling with.
Amboise is a short drive away for all the restaurants and attractions

Welcoming traditional chateau

We visited this fabulous chateau 6 years ago when passing though to southern France and decided to visit again and it didn’t disappoint. My husband requested the same room as previous on the ground floor overlooking the vineyard to the back where we sat outside in the evening for our cheese and wine. So pretty and the best breakfast in France. Please consider it if you are travelling down and want a stop over as it is so amazing.

Exquisite 

We stayed 3 nights at this classic rustic chateau run by a lovely family in the middle of a large, working vineyard.  Guest fridge full of wine samples.  Abundant breakfast.  Lovely, quiet rooms with comfy beds.  Great location for touring nearby chateaux. Scenic countryside setting.  Ambroise nearby. A bit difficult to find but well worth the effort.  During daylight (!) approach Lussault-sur-Loire on D751 (driving towards Ambroise) – when you see the small church, SLOW down and take the road to the left of the church.  Drive slowly and look for the Chateau de Pintray signs.

Delightful, sublime chateau in a working vineyard

Very nice hostess who provides a comfortable and clean accommodation on her family's working vinyard.  Our room was on the first floor, was very clean and everything worked.  Furnishings are rustic and we enjoyed that they were homey and inviting.  Breakfast was plentiful with croissant, bread, jams, cheeses, and yougart.  We had the treat of fresh figs from the farm.  This is not a posh hotel, but an old farmhouse.  It is well maintained and was perfect for us to escape from the centers of tourism.

This location is not far from Amboise (5-10 minutes) and we easily traveled to 3 Chateaus each day of our stay.  The treat is that you are in the country and awaken to views of vines and neighboring horse ranch, but no roosters. :)  Your hostess speaks English, gave us great recommendations for touring and dinner, and made dinner reservations for us.  We had a very enjoyable time here and recommend Chateau de Pintray.

Watch your GPS because ours continually got confused once we turned off the major road.  There is a little sign that says the Chateau is 2,500 meters which we missed twice, so just keep driving straight up and over the hill and then pass the stop sign.  The home is at the end of a long driveway lined with wonderful mature trees.

Welcoming Countryside Escape

The chateau is 10 minutes from the village. You need a car to reach this beautiful house. The hostess was very nice and accomodating to our schedule. Breakfast was wonderful with excellent croissants. It is a ver paceful location for resting and also great location to visit the Loire region. The house is beautifully renovated but conserving all its character.  Classical devoration in large rooms. There is also a winne tasting at the location. Highly recommended.

Very pintoresq b&b in a beatiful region

Chateau de Pintray is peaceful, restful, comfortable and charming. The signs of faded glory past are easily compensated by the ambiance and friendliness of the establishment. We had the larger ground floor room, which is elaborately decorated and furnished, and has a very comfortable bed, plenty of hot water and plenty of space.: we felt thoroughly happy with our choice of place to stay.  The location of Chateau de Pintray is very rural, being surrounded by vines and arable farm land. However, Amboise is only 6 km away and has numerous restaurants, while St Martin le Beau is only 3 km distant with the very acceptable Auberge de la Treille. Anne is a wonderful hostess and has plenty of suggestions for daily itineraries, produces a very good petit dejeuner to start the day, and should definitely be consulted on choice of restaurants in the area.

Peace and Tranquility

When looking to book a hotel near Amboise I initially chose a hotel in town but later decided on Chateau de Pintray about 10 minutes out of town.
What a great choice that was. Having a car made it easy anyway.
Hostess Anne was just wonderful, bubbly and friendly and eager to please with many tips about the local area. The breakfasts were just wonderful, I particularly loved the croissants/ It's also possible to sample the wine’s produced by Anne’s husband Christophe. I can't recommend Pintray highly enough. This is a 10.
