Very disappointed that it was 2 days before our arrival that we were informed that the restaurant was going to be closed for a holiday when we arrived. 

We booked the hotel because of the reputation of the restaurant and as others have commented, the town is dead at night, so no local alternative. No staff around until the following day, with the keys left in a lock box by the front door, and nobody on hand to recommend an alternative restaurant or food shop

Breakfast was worth waiting for, with an excellent selection of local cheeses, although the patron was pretty gloomy, with little inclination to engage.

The rooms were comfortable and nicely decorated, and there is parking a few minutes away in the village car park. There were also some nice artisan shops and a cafe open the following morning.

With a bit of effort, the hotel has all the ingredients to make it to a 4 star review, but unless they improve their customer engagement, I’m afraid it will languish as an underwhelming experience.

A 4 star hotel with a 3 star experience

Every thing did meet our expectations: we looked for a hotel during our trip to the aouth.  Overall good room, friendly personnel, excellent restaurant (good value for money). Typical French village. Nice catel overlooking the area.

Unfriendly Service, no card payment

This hotel was a great disapointment both in value for money and location. The hotel does not open till 6pm if u want an earlier checkin they charge u 25 euro, the rooms are accessed from outside up a 1 in 4 hill NOT EASY, parking is also not easy as the hotel does not have its own parking although the hotel does supply a blue card but you still have to try and find a parking space. The evening meal was ok but at 32euro per head its very over priced only other option costs 63 euro. Breakfast was a joke cost us 10 euro each we came down at 9am there was so little food left on day two we did not bother.

A brief stay

Rooms are lovely and aircon works well. 
Only problem if you arrive before 18:00, even though you’ve arranged an earlier time, is trying to get someone to check you in. 
Despite all that, it’s a lovely village with a superb chateau and for the food alone is well worth the visit. 

Good rooms but difficult checkin

  On our journey from Spain to Holland, we really enjoyed the luxury of two beautifully decorated rooms in this historic building.  Good beds, well equipped bathrooms and a great restaurant downstairs offering fine French cuisine. 

Great hotel with beautiful rooms

En route from Calais to Bordeaux, Luynes made a perfect place to stop for the night. The small town is beautiful but not a lot is going on, a few bars at best! What it does have going for it is this lovely hotel and restaurant. The hotel is simple but clean and quiet, the restaurant will provide a very good meal, possibly a little to ‘try hard’ in the number of ingredients used. The hosting in both the hotel and restaurant was absolutely faultless.

An Englishman Abroad

Wonderful host, ambiance, and very good choice for dinner, as well. Luynes is well located for a 2-4 day visit of chateaux in the Loire valley, and more calm than staying in Tours. While in the area, visit Sunday market in Langeais.
