My worst experience travelling EVER.  The most unsafe hotel that I ever saw.  Some of the windows were break, blood on the bedspread, full of yonkies...

We ask for the refund and they promise us that they will make the refund on the same credit card. After two weeks we didn´t have any transfer.

My recommendation if you have book a room with them, RUN!!!

MY WORST EXPERIENCE

Horrible client attendance, insensitive and helpless.We had to cancel the reservation because of the french public transport strike and we couldn't arrive un Lyon. They charged us the first night although It was nota our fault and we noticed them three days after the day off arrival.

So dissappointed, obviously not recommended.

The feelings left form this place are quite contradictory. At first sight, the price is nice and the location is perfect. But, when you check in (that is quite hard to do, there is no one at the reception after 19:00, or before 7:00 or at weekend), though you get all instructions via mail. Then you step into your room(for two with private bathroom), your first wish-to run away. From that smell, untidiness, and especially from the bathroom, that has awfully unpleasant curtain, dirty tiles. The only bonus you get-white sheets and towels. The breakfast costs 5 euro-and you get 1 pain, 1 croissant, coffee or tea. Seems to be fresh, but I would rather search for another place. Overall, you can stay there, if have no other variants, it is close to the Gare Perrache, but it is definitely not worth the price paid. You can get 3star hotel in the same district for the same price or 5-10 euro more.

Super mega budget hoStel with private bathroom

1. Location : When you are traveling around the world , y r always looking for somewhere you can stay with good location and safety first. We are arrivals the hotel on Sunday , staff is not working on this day , we get key code by email when we book the room via booking.com. The location of this hotel is quite far from city center , very difficult to find a restaurant around for eat. In night time, don't comeback to the hotel late after 10pm , we had feeling scare because lot of homeless people, they're trying to joke us. If y want to go some famous destinations of city, need to take 2 metro different about 10-15 mins.
2. Staff : I don't know why i make reservation via booking.com , hotel secure my credit card and charge before we arrivals around 2 week , i got messenger from bank. And when we check out , hotel staff , spoken English less , he's said : i don'n know and we need to pay for the room again. After that we're reporting problem with booking.com and they're refund to us money. I don't know why?
3. Facilities : Room is small , wifi weak , basic and so tiny share bathroom.
4. Breakfast : No breakfast include and we don't know how is it.

Unsafe Location!

My girlfriend and I spent two nights here while interrailing and these were our thoughts:

+ Very welcoming hotelier (speaks good English)
+ Good value for money
+ Nice breakfast which again is good value 
+ Decent location, ~3 minute walk from Jean Macé metro station and a 15 minute journey from Gare Part-Dieu (along Metro B towards Gare d'Oullins)
+ The room itself was clean and in good condition and once locked from the inside couldn't be unlocked from the outside which made us feel secure 

- The shared toilet and shower weren't in great condition and after a day our fellow guests had certainly made themselves at home. We would recommend wearing flip-flops to get around outside your room
- The sink drain was smelly when used but wasn't a problem otherwise; it didn't make the room unpleasant to be in 

On our floor, there were eight double rooms sharing one toilet and one shower. Fortunately, only two other rooms seemed occupied and so we didn't have any problems with access to facilities. The rooms are split into two corridors with four on each, one with the toilet and the other with the shower. 

Our experience was, in general, more like a private room in a hostel than a hotel but that suited us perfectly. Our little room was great and we would recommend Hotel des Facultes to anyone on a small budget who isn't fussy about sharing a toilet and a shower. 



Perfect for Interrailing 

We stayed in lyon for football games as part of Euros and we weren't expecting 5 star rooms. However sharing a shower and not having a toilet in the basic room was rough! One corridor has the shower the other side will have the toilet so make sure you're sorted before going to bed! As for the bed it had one long pillow for the 2 of us, was basic but did the job for a place to sleep. 
Manager was very welcoming and friendly, just dont ask him to order you a taxi!
