This was a really delightful, peaceful, unique place to stay. The welcome was warm and personal, I had a large and gracefully furnished room with a very comfortable mattress. It was perfectly quiet so one can sleep well. You are surrounded by trees and there are gorgeous roses at the front of the house. Lastly the breakfast was extraordinarly good - freshest patisserie, fruits and home-made conserves, all served wit great courtesy. Very good.

Superb, peaceful, historic manor with warm welcome

My husband returned to Manoir de la Branche for a New  Year visit, we were their in the early summer 2010. Joel And Rose Marie are welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is spice cakes, breads, rolls, fruits, jams.... coffee/ tea and juice.  There are several rooms available each different in decoration. Our room was large and comfortable with a large bathroom with a huge tub which was most welcome after cold day trips. The Manior is located in the beautiful countryside, but close to Mont St Michel and other costal cities. The host are also ready with information on local sites- just tell them your interest ( hiking, history, art) and they will point you in the right direction. We returned to take part in the New Years’ Eve  meal celebration... We were served a Wonder meal and enjoyed celebrating with three  other couples. I am happy to report that a return visit did not disappoint... and f the opportunity arises we will return.

Winter Return

The Manoir is very centrally located in the heart of Bretagne. Mont Saint-Michel, St. Malo, Dinard as the most known, closeby sites to visit.
The house is said to date back to 1050. The owners have restored it beatifully and with respect for the building. The gardens are nicely appointed with abundant flowers. You can see the love that the owners put into it.
Once in the room you feel like going back in time, as far as the atmosphere goes. Rooms are well maintained and have their own bathroom. For those who need it: WIFI reception is not the best, as the building has very thick walls. WIFI is available though.
The breakfast is served in the central room downstairs. The table is set as if it's Christmas time. Very special experience. The breakfast is typically French/Breton: bread, confiture, butter, fruits, coffee, tea, juice.

Friendly, welcoming hosts in the heart of Bretagne

We were 3 couples travelling by bicycle & a support car.  Arrived after a long, hot day to a lovely welcome from Rose Marie & Joel in their beautiful home & garden.  Rose Marie prepared a delicious dinner for us, beautifully presented including edible flowers from the garden! So pretty & the whole dinner was outstanding. No white wine available , just the local red & some cider on offer.    All the rooms are individual & quirky which makes it more interesting! A very charming spot & Rose Marie is a stunning cook.

Lovely place & very hospitable owners

We stayed (sadly only for) for one night en route home from Bordeaux to Cherbourg. What a find, this is a truly unique experience - to stay in beautiful rooms in such a historic building is a real treat. The welcome and hospitality of the hosts Marie and Joel is outstanding, they are so welcoming and helpful. Our room was large with a comfy bed and modern bathroom. Wi-fi is temperamental inside the one metre thick walls but worked perfectly in the dining room. We were treated to a glass of cider with our hosts and soon managed to put the world to rights despite our limited French. Dinner, which we had booked, was amazing. Served in the baronial Hall, we felt like Lord and Lady of the Manor. Marie is a very accomplished cook with an artistic eye - all her dishes were presented as works of art with tiny edible flowers etc. Breakfast, similarly, was beautifully presented with a wide range of croissants, breads, pastries and jams. It kept us going until the evening! The gardens are lovely as well providing many herbs and vegetables. We will certainly return.
