My husband and I spent one night in La Grange a Beija after a great three day visit to Paris and on our way to Southern France. We had booked the place based on the Tripadvisor earlier description and reviews and because it was a convenient midway point to our destination. Looking at a 2-d map we had not realized it was up in the hills so in time further from Massiac than we had anticipated but totally worth the drive. The location is so lovely and the bedroom spacious and exceedingly charming. The hostess did not speak English but we managed conversations via Google translate She pampered us with freshly baked cookies and coffee delivered to our bedroom in the evening. Home made delicious bread with butter, eggs and other products from the farms were part of the breakfast. We sat outside in the sun before we had to leave and enjoyed the stay very much. It was fun to experience such a totally different France from Paris.

Sunny adventure up in the hills

A remote property that delivers peace and quiet in a beautiful rural setting. Unfortunately, one of our hosts was indisposed throughout our brief stay but her daughter Frederique stood in for her and could not have been more helpful or welcoming.  She cooked a tasty four course evening meal, using local produce, including vegetables from the garden which we shared with her and her father who provided some very nice wines and interesting conversation to accompany it. Frederique also produced an excellent breakfast. Thoroughly recommended. We hope Mauricette is making a good recovery.

Excellent stay

This place is in the middle of nowhere, so don't rely on your Satnav. It's in a hamlet, surrounded by farmer's fields. The farm supply the milk and butter. The owners of this auberge, Mauricette and Andre, are delightful and could not be more helpful. Their bedrooms are like something from a gorgeous magazine. They have a lovely kitchen garden and chickens. We decided to eat there in the evening and we shared the table with the owners. Mauricette is an incredible cook. I'd like to have kept their place a secret because I thought it was really special but I want them to have a successful business even more. We stayed one night but I'll definitely be back again and hopefully for a few nights!
