This inn must have been lovely. It's a shame that the business is no longer there. The host, who is sometimes present, is nevertheless a very friendly good man. The interior is old French. The rooms are friendly. It's good. Good luck to him for the sale of the establishment! :)

It's too bad I'm permanently shut down.

We have now been twice at the Auberge de La Loulie because we simply love it. It is an old, romantic house (beautiful rooms!) with a great view to house and bridge from the garden. The owner is very friendly, patient and helps where he can. Excellent location for sightseing and canoeing. If we go to the Perigord again, we'll certainly stay at the Auberge again. Our eight-year-old son agrees very much. We have already stayed twice at the Auberge de La Loulie because we just love this Auberge. The house is watchful and romantic (with very beautiful rooms!) and in the garden we have a wonderful view on the house and bridge. The owner is very friendly and very kind, he has patience and help with the visits.

That's great!

It's an old-fashioned hostel with a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. It's a great place to stay and the owner sits in four to make you feel comfortable. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. You can enjoy a local and regional cuisine. This cuisine is tasty and refined.

Calm and Rest

Welcome, but that's the only good thing. Spider cloths, humidity, dust and smell of cat urine in the room.

That's very dirty.

BONJOUR I stayed one night in July 2014 in the champêtre room, it's dark, there were spiders and no phone network. The wifi was just outside. I had dinner at night with a salad and a goat's milk, the bread was hard (frozen) and the steak too cooked and there was no dessert offered for 12€. And the price of the 57€ is too high. The only positive thing is that the host always asks if everything is okay.

DECUDE

Traveling through Lot and Dordogne you cannot miss hundreds and hundreds geese and ducks walking the meadows. To encounter them on the menu is a delightful experience. This is exactly what you shall get in an auberge located about 3 miles from grotto de Rouffignac. The town has been destroyed by German during the WWII and two new restaurants, highly recommended by some, do not offer the atmosphere of an old inn. Auberge de La Loulie does. The place is a little pricy if you decide for a dinner menu but midday lunch is inexpensive and delicious. We had duck in different varieties and fig based desert for Euros 15 each, wine excluded. The host is pleasant and the place has nice atmosphere. Do not be scared by dog, male Collie outside. He growls but does not bite!

We stayed for one night and enjoyed the Auberge very much. Bathroom was basic but the room and bed were comfortable and it was not expensive.  We had dinner in the courtyard which was delicious.

Good stopover

La Loulie is in the beautifil Dordogne region. The guest house is quaint & comfortable. I felt like I really experienced France there! The food is delicious, and the ambiance is divine. We struggled a bit because we came by train, and it's 10km from the train station. But Guy & Catherine went out of their way to organise taxis for us & even drove us to the caves. HIGHLY recommended!!!
