The hotel is in a great location 5 minutes walk from both town and the ski lifts.
The welcome was very warm the food high quality and plentiful. The rooms are simple and clean. We visited at the end of the season and they were happy to give us a late checkout which meant we got a full day skiing and a shower before we left.

Lovely welcome

I stayed at the Alp Hotel in August. Megève is an upscale winter and summer resort and if you want to spend a lot on accommodation there is a large choice. However if you’re on a budget or simply want to spend the money you would otherwise have spent on housing, and on food and shops, the Alp Hotel is definitely the place to go. Yes, while the rooms are not what you get at a 4 or 5 star hotel , they are extremely clean, and kept clean daily by the cleaning crew. I was pleasantly surprised that each day when returning from breakfast my room had already been tidied; beds made, towels hung, etc.  In addition the common areas are very nice and there is an outdoor area with tables and chaises lounges with a nice view, as well as room to sit inside at the ground level if you want to relax and rest. This is a family run hotel. Olivier and his wife Rachel have one thing in mind: customer comfort and satisfaction and they both went out of their way to answer any question I had in great detail. It is something rare, and goes well beyond a smiling clerk behind a counter at a higher class establishment. There are some commentaries that say the Alp Hotel is 10 minutes from the center. But it is only 5 at most to the main center village street where you find the office of tourism (make sure to download their user friendly app), shops, restaurants & pubs, church and city hall town square. And I’ll reiterate that it’s a 5 minute walk to the Rochebrune Telecabine lift that takes you up to the hiking and ski trails. So in conclusion I highly recommend this for the budget and non budget travelers who value service, and would return without hesitation. And if you want any information before you book, call Olivier at the hotel direct line.  He speaks good English. There is also a restaurant on the premises (also where breakfast is served) and I’m sorry I did not have dinner there because from the reviews and people I spoke to who ate there it was very good. Personal touch of Owners can’t be beat

We have just stayed in this very nice hotel in Megève, room 17 and have enjoyed its many qualities: the proximity to the city centre and the taxicab, the flowery and neat garden, the long chairs facing the mountain and a bucolic landscape. The hotel is very well maintained, clean and fragrant. The meals are good, prepared by the'master' of the hotel, a warm and attentive gentleman who likes to cook, laugh and have fun. So is his wife, an active lady, who cares about everyone's well-being and gives very good advice on hiking and the local.

Very nice stay at the Alp Hotel

A family hotel that managed to stay authentic year 70 to keep reasonable prices in Megève. The main thing is there, rooms with good bedding and storage Clean bathroom with nice email bathtub and sparkling fairies Lunch included very pleasant served at table, very good crispy bread and croissants with top butter. Dinner possible and very reasonable, family kitchen. All managed by a very friendly boss who grew up in Megève and took over his parents' business. He will be able to tell you Megève and keep a non-elite clientele.

It's a nice two-star hotel, very well located.

We knew what to expect booking a 2 star hotel, but were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food served in the evening and the willingness of our hosts to adapt to dietary preferences. breakfast was simple but ample. our room was basic tough came with a 'bath' - the bath was literally half the sizeof a normal bath, so you had to 'squat' in it on a purpose made seat - this would be totally unsuitable for anybody other than able bodied person. I'm 6'3' and it wasn't that easy getting in and out tbh! a much shorter person would struggle given the depth of the sides of the bath. It seems the heating was never on full blast anywhere in the hotel and particularly in our room. it wasn't cold as such but never 'cosy'- the hot water in the taps was always super-hot to be fair. 

great location for the slopes- five minute incline walk to one of the main lifts where there are hire shops and you can leave your kit there during your stay.  an easy  5 minute walk into the charming and wealthy town of megeve.

Basic, but good food, location and charming hosts.

A family hotel where you feel good

We were greeted and made to feel welcome and wanted. 

The facilities are basic with a no frills approach in rooms (bit dated) but very clean and was great for a few days skiing. 

Always fresh towels, rooms serviced daily and attentive service at breakfast. Friendly without being intrusive. 

This hotel is not too big, (bathrooms tiny) and is quiet and well placed for the ski lift.  A nice restaurant is situated nearby if you don’t want to eat in the hotels restaurant and the town is only  a short walk away. 



No Frills but clean and welcoming

A very nice little hotel located 10 minutes from downtown and 5 minutes from the Rochebrune cab departure quiet sector boss and boss very nice little room very clean hotel used nothing has changed in 30 years, very good breakfast I recommend good quality price ratio

All right, all right.

We had read the bad and poor reviews, and after staying at the hotel we asked ourselves, were these reviews from real customers or competitors? We are 100% satisfied and everything. The hotel is easy to access, close to the slopes. We slept there with a good, perfectly calm sleep. A space is provided for skis and shoes, very convenient. The rooms, although small, are very clean. The meals: Breakfast, bread and fresh creams, every day a new jam. The snacks: simple but efficient. Everything is fine, we went back to the belly every time we went home. The hotel owners are of a great deal of kindness. This is a really nice address to keep.

No regrets, it was great.

The owners - Olivier and Rachel - run a simple, clean snd very comfortable hotel. It's ten minutes walk out of the town so it's quiet with beautiful views. The Rochbrune lift is five minutes away - perfect for walking or skiing. Olivier is a kind man who cooks brilliant French food! We discovered this last time, so my whole family enjoyed five nights half board. A lovely restaurant experience without feeling like a tourist in the town!
We'll be back for our fourth visit soon!
