We’ve stayed just for one night on our way to the south. It was more than pleasant. The house is authentic and lovely, the owners show to have a great eye for detail. Breakfast was great!

When we left we had some problems with our car and the owners didn’t hesitate to help us solve the problem.

Perfect stay in beautiful chateau

Hidden in woods just near the highway exit 7 (vierzon) of the A20 is this pittoresk chateau with only 5 guestrooms.
A large a spacious garden which matches the chateau character with the dicks in the pound and the chickens in the bushes.
If you looking for a good rest and a french breakfast this is the place. Some rooms have an extra room for double or family if you travel with (small) children like use!

Best kept secret

Came here last summer while working our way through France. The Chateau is set in extensive and beautifully maintained grounds. To say that  the Chateau is relaxed almost underestimates it. We had tea in the gardens before popping out into Vierzon (10 minutes away) for an evening meal. Breakfast in the morning was served in the garden and was what i would call a perfect continental breakfast. Throughout there was no hassle, no hurry only the calm of the tall trees and the beautiful old building. Highly recommended.

Well out in the sticks this lovely chateau is hidden away, be careful you don't miss the sign on the entrance gates as it is very small nothing like the size of the chateau.
Our room was on the top floor which meant several flights of stairs so if thats a problem mention it on booking. The roomitself was ok a bit small as I think it was an attic room originally, but perfectly adequate. Breakfast was fine the usual fare very welcome.
The grounds were huge with chickens and geese free ranging around no problem.
The chateau itself being very old did creak and groan a bit but then it is old and in my experience most chateaus do, so if you want modern book an Ibis

Imposing chateau

We booked this boutique hotel for a one night stop on our way to South of France. We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The rooms were comfortable with a lot of charm and they put a baby cot in the room even on short notice. The grounds of the hotel are nice to relax and the owner was very helpful and friendly in recommending & arranging restaurant reservation in the nearby town (10min drive). They also were flexible for an early breakfast, which was simple but very tasty.

We would definitely come back here

Excellent overnight stop in small castle

There are many places to stop when driving from the channel ports to the South of France. This is one of the better places we have found. The owner is welcoming and the location is tranquil. Large trees, ducks quacking in a pond, and quiet. The house is full of interesting bits and pieces and the rooms are fine. Wi-Fi works even at the top of the house and is OK for email and casual web browsing. No restaurant but plenty five minutes away in Vierzon. Simple but effective breakfast. Overall, very nice.

Tranquil place to stop en route to the South

If I wanted to know more about George Sand, I'd go visit her house museum in Nohant and it will cost me €8. How did I end up in a room full with Sand, open bath and lots of cracking noises that cost me €126 is still beyond me. I found this Chambre d'Hotes (B&B) on a B&B site when looking for a place to spend the night while breaking the long drive from Perigueux to Paris Charles De Gaulle. The pictures looked pretty enough and I agreed to the high (by B&B standards) price, because there was nothing else around. Little did I know that we'll end up in an old chateau which shows all signs of need for repair (see photos) even if the rooms have been renovated. The “bath” is a clumsy plastic contraption in the middle of your room, that tends to release a torrent of water on your clothes and everything else in the area.  It's very dangerous: its awkward shape and lack of holding bar requires you to have acrobatic skills if you don't want to fall and hurt yourself.  But that was not the worst. It's still to come.
	Upon arrival, we are greeted by a Warrior Goose leading a flock of ducks. Having parked where indicated we try to find somebody but it's all quiet, even if the surroundings are very much picture-like. After a phone call we reach the owner and she arrives soon. She even offers us some fruit juice. We inquire about places to eat and the two available are all in the next town (about half an hour round trip). I don't know about you, but I don't want to drive even five minutes more, after spending the whole day in the car. Just as we decide that we'll simply get some cheese and baguette and some wine we have in the car and have a quick bite, we discover the signs: pretty little colored signs warning you not to eat or drink, no alcohol, not even soda. There is not even a “Please”, it's all in Army-like language. All this in the middle of nowhere! I go back to the web site to check if I missed something but I did not: the site has pretty pictures of the rooms but no mentioning of any house rules. Let alone prohibition to drink even soft drinks. Imagine going to a 4 or 5 star hotel and being told what to do in your own expensive room! It's her house, she can do what she wants, but all this must be disclosed in the promotional materials, so customers know what they are getting into. Besides, what are we expected to do for dinner, if she does not offer it and there is nobody else near by?!
	During the night there are loud noises from time to time. Since I don't believe in paranormal, it had to be either doors/windows in need of repair or a clever marketing plan to make the house sound haunted...As if the noises from the antique plumbing when your neighbors flush the toilet weren't enough. And I have not even mentioned the roosters who start at 4:30AM. But that's the country, they cannot help it.
	Very disappointing.
